superfuzz, thanks - the photo doesn't show it well, but the Ruscha is actually a set of two heavyweight banners hanging from a rail. the getty hung them on streetlights across LA to advertise the exhibition in 2011 and let people buy them afterwards.  they still have authentic LA pollution all over them…

mclain - all good so far with the 3105s. did a 35 minutes soak and am on day 2 now.  the feel and dark color of the LHT is amazing.

Thanks MP.  I think I've retired my 666S as of this week.  They have been my everyday jeans for almost exactly 2 years, to the week!  Time to move on but I will probably still wear them now and again.
