Lowered '55 rise is more normal than "low," it wouldn't be a '55 anymore but that's not such a bad thing….although I seriously doubt they're going to test a new cut in 21/23 oz.

Well, even my LVC 201 don't have such a long rise as the IH 1955. If the FR was around 12" and the backrise around 15,5" (size 33/34) it would still be long and I think also historically more acurate. And much more wearable. It could also come in a different name to differ from the current 1955.

The rise on our version of the 55 is the exact same size as a pair of LVC 55 that I had.  I do not know what year the LVC's were, as I no longer have them here.

The rise will not change.  They are what they are and if you don't like it, buy something else.

If the 21/23 oz denim comes off, then I'd be up for a pair of the 1955s. Even with the enormously tall rise.

Nobody has ever suggested not to make an authentic 1955 in this fabric, but when the idea was raised to create a possible "new" cut for this fabric, some of us, myself included, merely suggested the idea of a "modified" 55 cut, that's all… ...and yes I'll take an authentic 55 in this fabric ...

I was of the impression that the 1955S has been a fairly slow seller (pls correct if I'm wrong). In light of this, I'm surprised to see so much interest in it here.

I stand corrected!  It just felt like that first run (collab with A***) hung around for ever.

Probably getting wayyy ahead of things here, but I'd like to place my vote for aged brass coloured hardwear with whatever jeans may eventuate.

You are right, the first batch flew out the door initially and then the balance hung around for ages.  Then I got more and more people completing the "tell me when back in stock" form, so I did another run and they moved pretty quickly, so another run is being done….
