No advice on those particular lasts but I can tell you from personal experience a nightmare story of a pair of engineers that Morgan sized off the same tracing used prior that ended up comparable to slipping my foot in a swimming pool they were so oversized. Not trying to scare you but just be aware, its akways best to be measured on a brannock or try them on… I hope it all works for you though mate!

The fact is, those tracings are two dimensional, and some of the extreme lasts Viberg uses are very much three dimensional.  I don't see how you can really accurately size someone on one of those elf-shoe lasts with a tracing, but that could be a failure of my imagination.

        Think it, be it.

Well, that's calmed my anxiety chaps…!!!!

I guess we'll see, the service boots I'm selling (sob) are definitely too tight and they're a 9.5, so I think a 10.5/10 for my feet are a good estimation.

Whether or not that translates to a 10 on the 110 is another matter.

If it's a bit loose, I'll just chuck in some comfy insoles and get on with it.

I agree, the same thought crossed my mind when doing them bit I thought maybe they used some type if computer imaging with tracing and measurements to recreate the foot but I don't really see how it would be possible… Though I think it would be interesting concept to look into, but that's another story. If you are close I think it would be worth the extra $ to find a way to go be sized in person. After all, your purchasing a pair of boots that are intended to last a lifetime. Might as well give it all the effort you can to MAJE sure they love you as much as you love them. E.g. You'll want a perfect fit and nothing less will feel like it was quite worth the $$$

Yeah the problems of estimating a three dimensional object from two dimensions is a pretty tricky situation.

I would love to try them on in person Tatmantall, but sadly in Australia no one stocks them :(, and a trip to Canada is a few grand!

Fingers crossed for when they arrive…

Yeah–I have the same anxiety Aries, I was sized at an 8.5 E and I'm 75% sure it should be D, I don't have wide feet.  And Vibergs seem wide already, even at D.

There are ways of fitting people accurately and remotely, the high end cowboy bootmakers have kits that account for 3 dimensions.  I think Viberg needs to get into that, for the price the things cost.

Indeed Mclain, it would definitely solve a lot of anxiety, especially for the poor buggers who go for an MTO, wait 12-16 weeks and then find out they don't fit.

This is exactly what morgan suggested to me as well. Numerous times i messaged him second guessing this because of my narrow feet I am a D at the most and can normally wear a C if available but he insisted that E was practically a D and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference….He, was wrong. m(nothing against Morgan, it was my decision in fact my decision in the end, i just decided to go with his suggestion) I honestly wish I would have went with Giles original sizing advice on my first pair of Vibergs and think I would have been dead on.

Yep…. I believe history is repeating itself.  I suspect G tried to save me too.  I told him my size and he was like "ok 8.5D, check."  And I said back that Morgan had said E...

Do you happen to remember what you sized on the width of your largest foot mclain?

                            I, for example, am 10.8cm (4.3 inches) and was recommended a 10D. Lengthwise I'm 29cm (11.5inch).

I wear 9.5D (digitally measured) in Red Wing.  In Magli and Ferragamo I am a reliable 8.5.  In US sneakers I am a reliable 9.5D.  In Japanese shoes I am a 27cm / size 9.  My Lofgren boots are US9.5D, my Road Champs are US10D, but heavily modified, so that doesn't count.  All of these fit me perfectly.  I don't have Brannock measurements unfortunately or even a ruler here to measure my foot length or width at the ball.  I do have high arches.  I don't have wide feet.  They're not skis by any means, but I think they should be D for the most part.

I think it also has to do with how people like their shoes to fit. I have always worn 7.5 in Alden (truebalance and barrie) but then I was told that I should wear a 7, but I prefer the way 7.5 feels (in boots at least). Also, I think engineers are a bit harder to get a perfect fit. That's why I decided to use Wesco's custom fit form, which seems to have worked perfectly for me.

Interesting mclain, I'm a 10.5-11 in similar sneaker and boot sizes.

Yeah superfuzz, that's a large part of what makes boots so tricky; everyone has a different feel for it.

Also has a lot to do with socks and specific parts of your foot (like mclain says, high arches or flat feet, wide feet, narrow feet etc.!).

Really interesting seeing the contrast from the White's you also posted in the respective thread. These Viberg's seem to be much slower in softening/forming. Heavy 🙂
