Very fitting finale to a superb leg. I'm sure the whole community here is as sad as I am that it's already over. Was this really four weeks already? Who has turned the clocks?

501, it makes a huge difference to taste. The same coffee ground correctly for the brew method, and then brewed in 4-5 different brew methods will taste quite different. Some notes will be the same, but they accentuate different characteristics. I'd be very surprised if there's not at least a few places doing siphon in Germany. I've got mates who used to drink Chemex filter coffee in Berlin last year, so imagine it is about. Maybe one for you to investigate when you've got a few hours free at some point :).

You are, of course, right. I googled, and there's a coffee bar in Kreuzberg opened in December 2011 that does all the coffee procedures I only noticed from your post, incl. Chemex, aeropress, and yes, siphon. I'll go there when I'm next in the area.

Can't quite believe how long ago my leg in the tour already is in the past. Now stumbling onto the old SD Card with the pics stored on it, AND temporary access to a "real" computer with uploading potential, I figured I could do at least a mini docu to finally, with only two years or so overtime, fulfill the forfeited promise of showing some pics.

So this is how I got them. In Berlin's DC4 of fond memory, where FOXY had deposited them for me. Pics were taken by none other than the very man himself, Daniel, DC4's owner.

And since I of course immediately start reminiscing about this beloved haunt of high end denim, here's a shop view that I took on the occasion.

This sweet little detail tells quite a story….the box with discarded pieces from serial hemming jobs, each and every one done with Daniel's signature perfection.

And this "historical" post would not be complete without this view:

Apologies again for having taken such extravagant time to do this, naturally several readers won't have an idea what I'm talking about here…but there's the thread, well worth a revisit.
This is a case of better late than never!

Among the most noteworthy occasions the jeans got to see while they were here in Berlin, was the annual vintage car show on the Kurfürstendamm, the famous boulevard in the western part of the city.
Here's a few impressions, without the jeans in picture alas.

Perhaps the car aficionados among you will enjoy this, I know zilch about cars, hence no further comment… 😃

Perhaps less known than our "Kudamm", at least to those of you who have never been to Berlin, is the Tempelhofer Freiheit, for me, a major (since truly unique)  attraction.
The disused former Tempelhof Airport, very centrally located, has been made accessible to the public, for general recreation, sports (sometimes with a deceivingly American look), art, urban gardening (not shown) and practically every outdoor activity conceivable.

                                    Here are a few impressions

And for once, a quick one of me in the tour jeans, which experienced a little new damage with almost every day I wore them.

Coming back to my digging the Berlin leg of this long gone tour out the "archive", this is how the jeans looked about half way through it, the developing damages becoming more obvious.

Towards the end of my leg, I took the jeans to our probably most prominent Landmark, the Brandenburg Gate

                                        Some eyecatchers on the way…

…to the Holocaust Memorial, or Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, as it's officially called.
It's a vast field of stelae, a design by Peter Eisenman (the result of many years of controversial discussion and a competition).

I was very much in mind of Levi Strauss, the German jew from Bavaria to whom we all owe jeans. I like to think Levi would have approved of showing the tour jeans here, though they were not his brand, but rather one that took the concept several steps further.

To close, the traditional view of the Brandenburg Gate
