I just picked up my Lofgrens expecting to pay $60 of duty on them, and I was at the post office so early that the front desk wasn't open. Either they forgot to charge me, or they just don't do it when you get it straight out of the parcel room. Score!

We started our kitchen renovation last week. We just found out that we'll have to replace every single cabinet in the entire kitchen. That's 26 cabinets for those of you keeping score at home. This is an unexpected expense that will hurt a little now, but will be more than worth it in the end. I'll update with progress shots.
This project includes new floors, new recessed lights in the ceiling, new under cabinet lights, new quartz counter, new sink, new patio door, new tile backsplash, new base cabinets and new wall cabinets.
Our contractor is fantastic though, so we know it's going to be awesome. Right now our living room contains the entire contents of our kitchen and I feel like we're living like hoarders. This has been occupying a lot of my time lately as I've been shopping for and running around buying materials for this project.
Phew!

Having survived my own massive renovation/home construction project, I wish the both of you patience, luck, and most of all, extra money in the budget.

Thanks Chris. It's really hard to imagine any other surprises at this point. All of our appliance are new (in the last 4 years), and everything else in the kitchen is being replaced. With that said, you never know what could happen.
As for the patience…. It's tough, and I'll have to get myself organized once our living room clears out. Otherwise I'll go insane. Since we just found out about needing new cabinets, we'll have to order them and wait about 4 weeks for delivery. Then probably another two weeks for the new countertop. So yeah, about 6 weeks to go. The good news is that we have an island with a large butcher-block top which will serve as our counter space until the rest comes in. Our contractor is going to set our stove back up, our dishwasher, our fridge, and sink, so we'll be limping to the finish line, but at least we'll cross it!

To those of you who haven't tried Anonymous Ism yet, I am such a fan now and encourage you to try them. Every single sock I have of theirs has a different weave, thickness and pile, but all of them are very stylish, comfortable, and soft. It's crazy, each pair could easily be from another manufacturer…
