Samurai Jeans
-
I remember reading something b_F posted either here or on Sufu a while back and it had really stuck with me regarding siZing… More important than waist is the thigh measurement... So like mega said maybe size up in the s5000vx to get the right thigh measurement and use a belt. Either way waist can stretch it be belted to an extant but thigh is not nearly as forgiving.
…sometimes, I really say/write smart things...
that said: 24" thighs on a waist size of 36" is nowhere big or huge in my eyes. Size 35 in the S5000VX21oz could also work (gotta love Samurai for doing at least that in-between-size)
edit: Really a great fit Tat! I started to wear the S5000 without belt and on my hips to give me some crotch room

;)thanks b_F

Thank you guys!!! Hmm in Singapore there is no where to try out samurai. Therefore I have to really hear you guys out. And thanks alot for the information. And this make me think twice on IH634s or the Beatle buster 18oz raw jeans. As I really like the back pocket arc of s5000vx21oz jeans. As for me I prefer just nice fitting but not too baggy jeans. So what do u guys think which one this 3 jeans will fit my legs best?

Unless you find a Lot.13, the S5000VX21oz has yellow arcs

Decided to give my 15th anni 17oz s5000vx a second chance today.
More fit pics from you man, looking great

In fact, I've never seen a 5000 fitting that slim (and good).
-
Thanks again fellas… It's odd to me that the straight fits end up fitting me like most slim fits but guess it must have to go with the waist height ratio.... 6'6" with a 30 waist. Anyway definetly happy with the fit, they work great with boots, but a bit short for sneakers (IMO).

just received my 15th anniversary 25oz Samurais (S5000VX25oz, I think they are called) from BIG in NYC.
the fabric has the nicest color and texture. Does NOT feel as heavy as IH 25oz model, feels more like a 21-23 IH. the cut is a bit baggier than the IH 634 and its waist is slightly lower
great pants, quite frankly. -
Weird, I was under the impression that the S5000 cut was a touch slimmer than the 634 cut for some reason. Did you wash them or just soak them? Are they slubby at all?

I sized up to 36 and I'm usually a 34, so that may be the reason.
I havent washed them yet
They are wonderfully slubby -
Fading pattern on the 710 is different. Less slubby, more contrast and a grey sheen. TBH, I never was too fond of the 0500 in terms of fading. But the cut and slubby denim is great.
That's my 710:
and my 500, same denim.

The 0500 has a great texture and interesting concept. Still it doesn't fade that dramatically like the 19oz denim.
But if you want to see the range the 0500XX can fade, take a look here:http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php/topic/39076-samurai-contest-winner-poll/

agree w/Max & b_F on contrast fading. there are other denim types for that.
however, the 500s remain as the [ultimate] Texas cotton experience for me.mine was a LOT 9, acquired waaay back when not a lot of peeps know what "slubby" was.
the cut, indigo hue, & slub experience was like sex, for the very 1st time.
