Awesome, awesome tour updates, Hemi! You live in a beautiful place and I love your lifestyle. Plus the first Sk8 Hi is fantastic, still my favorite shoe.

Thanks Max. New Zealand is beautiful and we're very fortunate to live here.

        Day 20:

The "Wellington" windy sign sits on the hillside entrance to Miramar and is the first thing you see when landing at the Airport. Originally, The Wellington International Airport (owners of the land) wanted to put up a "Wellywood" sign in a tongue and cheek reference to our film industry. There was a massive public backlash so they held a competition and this piece of crap won.

This is what it's like landing at the Airport… Which is usually followed by "Praise Jesus, I'm alive!"

The reason it's so windy here is that we lie right in the path of the roaring forties (the prevailing westerly winds). The central ranges deflect these winds through the narrow gap between the North and South islands known as the Cook Strait. As they get funnelled through this passage they get faster and stronger.

Again, a super update Hemi. Yep Ive lived thru a couple of rough as landings to Wellywood airport in a howling South westerly. Makes you want to truly kiss the ground when you get off the plane.

            Peace

Have a safe 2021 IH Peeps.

Went to visit my builder mate working just down the road.

The beginning of the alley - Hannahs Factory on Leeds & Eva Streets.

Hannahs was an iconic New Zealand footwear manufacturer founded in 1870.  This Factory was built in 1930 but has now been converted to apartments.

This old house was originally a boxing gym… but I think you can tell some weird hippie/artist live here now?

My mate Jamie hard… at work!

The end of the alley - Triple threat!

Show at the Opera House, drink at Soda and massage at Massage… that is an expensive date!

                      Lazy Sunday!

On our way into town to buy an xbox game for Caden.

On our way home to play the xbox game.

                      Caden taking photos

                      He's getting pretty good.

                      Mr photogenic.

Bailey likes to come to training… and then she always falls asleep.

I get the call from Grandma saying my nephew just got suspended from school for smoking dope.

So we're off to Grandma's for a family conference… as soon as we finish skipping...

… and running around the beach.

Wow, what do you say to that? Learn life, live it, be a free thinker, but do what we tell you? Surely not? Be smart, stay in school? Really IMO if he's already doing it, it's got to be accepted and just don't get caught? Spark a blunt or 2 up and get to the bottom of it to say time and place. Would love to know how it goes down, if you don't mind.

                                  Hey Snowy,

I had a pretty tough/bad upbringing and was on the street when I was a teenager so I have some experience to draw on. I told him I love him and we can move forward together. The good thing is at 13 years old he know's he let himself down and is a bit upset. He loves the school and we have to go before the board so I told him to pick himself up and start thinking about solutions. He hasn't had the easiest life but he's a great kid and talented athlete who has been identified as a future leader by the school. We need to work on a couple of things. Create the right environment so he has every opportunity to reach his full potential and develop a plan so he's working towards his goals daily/monthly/yearly.

And I don't speak at him rather I ask if its ok if I tell him what I think.

Just finished hand waxing another custom boot for Daniel. I used a really nice bailey crust leather for the upper. I prefer this type of leather because it has been less processed so it retains a lot of natural character.

This is Lee from Whanganui, 3 hours north of Wellington. He is originally from Malaysia and makes jeans there with his friends. We had a talk about working together and I really like him, especially his focus on looking after his family… great guy!

Made from 14oz Cone Mills selvedge denim

Once a year the Oyster Caravan sets up in the carpark next to my work. Its run by one of the best restaurants in town and you can get Oysters prepared in different ways with a beer or wine… it goes nuts all night!

My favourite time of the day when my babies come to pick me up!

Thanks for sharing. The more I thought overnight about why one starts smoking, other than the cool/rebel factor, it's usually boredom or denial of 'stuff'. Having positive outlets/activities/opportunities is what I imagined would be the most sensible way forwards. Sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders if he let himself down.

                                      Back to the tour….thnx again
