They do, and they even have the intestinal fortitude to work on the 25oz denim…

the 21oz denim is exactly that, soft and pliable.  So stubborn.  Much like yours truly, it just does what it wants.  And I love it for that.

      Think it, be it.

Great news!  I am yet to find (not that I have been looking very hard) somewhere that can taper quality denim, without totally destroying the products integrity.
Speaking of 25oz… I'm strongly considering the 666-XHS to be my next pair!
I have heard along the grape vine that Naked and Famous does a 32oz... Now that would require an exorbitant amount of fortitude to alter.

It is stubborn, but is indeed a loveable amazing fabric.  It confounds all my previous beliefs about thicker equalling less comfort, in denim products.  And for that, i love the jeans more and more every time i wear them!

Railcar are ninjas on alterations and I've heard nothing but praise for what they do.  They shortened the rise on a forum member's XHS Busters and from all accounts just nailed it, so I'd think a taper would be no problem whatsoever.

          Think it, be it.

Ok, haven't given my 555's any love at all because it seems that i have a "diaper butt" and it annoys me quite a bit…not only can i feel the extra denim in my arse area when walking, it kinda looks like i just pooped in my pants. Anyone else ever had this issue?

So i tried it on again today to give it another go and get a second opinion. Will this eventually settle and feel and look better with time? Or should i just size down 1?

Doesn't look that bad, the only solution is to wear them hard to soften up the denim and mould it to your body. A soak or wash might help soften them.

Yeaaap. I have the same problem. The only thing i feel wrong with it. Is the rise or the diaper butt as you call it.

thanks maxpower. i noticed the images doesn't look as bad as it does in person. perhaps i'll give it a good hot soak tonight and see what happens.

Do7, glad to hear that i'm not alone on this. maybe you're right about the rise, or maybe i just have a small butt. haah!

i actually sized up one basing it on what i wanted on the thigh measurements. however, i didn't think that i would have much extra room in the butt area. hopefully, this could help some others on whether sizing up on these is a good idea or not.

So chewie has a sz 33 up for sale that has me interested… Waist'll be too big but then the XHS also has stretched to a 34 (and it is loose, but that's what you get when you work in jeans, despite wearing a belt that could knock out a mammoth, knock off a mammoth even)...

12" thighs: wouldn't even need any stretching
8.25" knee: so that's half an inch tighter than the XHS... Can't really see that to be an issue...
7.5" legopening at 36" inseam; so shortened to say 33", that would be closer to 8"...
15" rise: I could live with that...

                              Shit...

Can you stand a high rise? If yes, try it. They are comfy in the top block, but I still can't get used to pull them off my shins when I take them off. Speaking - they're really tight. But if you like that look - give it a shot.

Can I stand a high rise… Funny... I would prefer them to have an even higher rise actually... But 15" 'll do...

Yeah: they might be too tapered down the knee... Plus I don't actually need to rotate two jeans... My XHS'es will do...

Ok so i hot soaked them for almost 2 hours the other night and to my surprise, no shrinkage. All measurements are same as original, haah! I guess it is what it is.
