There are also black versions of both wallets, pictures from the Rm-ism blog. Given the date of the posting, I'm guessing that the one I posted earlier is new old stock from 2008.

I suspect that the white would evolve in a more interesting manner, but I wonder how the black would turn out.

Interesting, do many of you alternate between multiple wallets at a time?  I'm strongly monogamist on that…  My wallet has an almost visceral connection to me...  Given the size of the thing that would be inconvenient if I ever wore skimpy clothes with shallow pockets

I alternate between my old faithful Obbigood black mid wallet, and when I'm going out for beers I switch to my black Tush Kawakami card case.

My guess would be that the black painted wallet won't show up the dirt in the same way that the white one would, but would end up looking something like this watch strap. The matte finish is likely to polish to a shine too with wear.

There'll be more contrast on the concho than on the white.

I found a picture of a couple of well loved Redmoon wallets on Megumi Goto's blog.

He adds, and I'm paraphrasing this from the Googlish auto-translation, that the thread is intended to fail first so that it doesn't damage the leather. That might explain some of the complaints about stitching, or it might be just Goto-san covering himself.

Speaking of stitching, the Crow wallets look very tidy.
