Roy4s, ~5 months in rotation with my IHs… 1 soak and just washed (sorry, shitty cel phone pics).  These britches really grow on you.  At first I really liked the story, but the jeans were, well... meh.  But the more I wear them the better they look and fit.  Now I'm in love - these are special.......

Everyone who loves denim should have a pair IMOHO.

I agree with you Bluegrass.  The RS04 denim starts out almost grey, but turns into a beautiful shade of blue over time.  One of my favorite pairs right now.

had to chime in on this. i have a pair of rno4 and the roy ducks. both are amazing pairs of pants. roy is my idol and the reason i have started to sew. i have been buying and learning how to using a bunch of machines, mainly from watching roys videos and learning what machines he uses. i have a 43200 g, a union special edgelock, old school singer bartacker, merrow serger,  singer for the waistbands,  and the list goes on. ive been learning now and practicing for a few months and plan on making my own jeans to sell within the year. so long story short, because of roy and how sick his approach to making jeans is. i am now hooked!!!

Yeah I have them. They're pretty cool. If you look around you'll find plenty of other brands that use either the exact same cone mills fabric or at least very similar. You can see through the material when you hold it up to light, that's how loose the weave is.

Solid construction and tons of details, like with all his garments. But at the end of the day I really don't care about details that aren't visible or add to the construction. You can find American made pants, shirts AND jackets in this same material from at least 2-3 companies that I can think of. All for like $100-150 less. So, it's just up to you and how much you care about certain details. The material is very cool. It fades nicely and very quickly. It's probably been 6 months since I've worn mine though.

I'm also a big fan of the Ducks - I also have Roy4s that I like - as they evolve they are growing on me, been wearing them more this summer - and wearing the Ducks a lot too.  I swear L'ville getting hotter or maybe as I age I just can't tolerate it as much.  I too love all the details - fascinating.

I hear ya on this. I bought a pair of Roy's simply because of the American made ideal he follows. Great pair of jeans, simplistic and minimalist. Only a denim purist would be able to spot these but when one does, its a great feeling that overcomes any feelings on doubting the value of paying extra for the miniscule details. Always worth it in the end.

May not see the detail, and even when seen may only be appreciated by a purist…  But carries a sense of satisfaction to the purist who owns it. The glued butt joint gets the job done with less required skill and effort, but it runs against the aesthetic of quality construction and the hidden details that indicate it.
