hey guys I've heard Goro's accepts phone orders, but delivery time could be from 3 weeks to 3 months…is this true or just internet smoke?

it's plausible…. do you speak japanese? i know of people who call and make custom orders. but seems like that's only for regulars

Why get put through the ringer with Goro, when you can go to someone like Jeanette Dale, a Navajo Jewelrysmith from Navajo, NM.  The quality is the same or better.

^Thank you MikeC, and lamdog.  Great links.  I know a certain Okie will appreciate it, too.

Question, though.  What's with the swastikas?  How does anyone wear that shit?

Sean.  The Nazi's appropriated a load of imagery from different cultures, The Swastika or manji was one of them….

In Japan, the swastika is called manji; when you type out the word on your computer, chances are the swastika symbol will come up (卍). The manji doesn’t have the kind of stigma in Japan as it does in the West, and is used pretty frequently in Buddhist tradition.

Thank you, G.  I appreciate the insight.  I feel a bit foolish, but I'm sure that I'm not the only person who has thought this before.

Me included.  It's a little unsettling to see youngsters proudly strutting around in T-shirts emblazoned with them when in Japan…..

If you notice, the manji had the arms rotating in the opposite direction of the arms of the swastika.  Important, but easy to miss, distinction.

I'm sure it is unsettling, G.  I've spent a lot of time in Northern Idaho (my mom used to live there), and the presence of the KKK still lingers (the swastika is their symbol, too).  In fact, an outspoken white supremacist ran for County Sheriff just last year.

For all of the jokes about Texas, Idaho is far worse.

With my research I'm kind of nervous on my camp out day I might miss the bangle bracelet I hope to snag.  Could you guys recommend a reputable plan B location shop, rakuten seller, or reliable forum member I could look at dealing with to snag one.  I know there will be a degree of markup, but hopefully not something totally off the wall.  Any advice on a backup plan would be greatly appreciated.

there's a 2nd hand shop just behind goro's… not very sure what it's called or how it looks like. but everyone keeps telling me if you can't get anything at goro's, they have everything there. don't worry. the joy of goro's is to not know what you're able to get lol.. i know it's stupid but the fun is talking to the people you queue with
