Update from Morgan @ Viberg. only thing i didnt spec or talk about was the tongue, not sure about balck. has any one had a pair shipped to the UK, shipping costs, duty, tax??

Todd they only have a few colors available for the tongue due to how thin the materials need to be. Both my boots have black tongues. When they're on and laced up you won't even notice brother !

Both my pairs have matching color tongues- green and blue.  I never discussed tongue color, that's just what they gave me.  The green one is a completely different leather than the rest of the boot.  Different shade, thickness and so soft it feels like upholstery grade leather.  The blue pair has navy CXL for the tongue, just like the rest of the boot, but thinner.

It may be heresy, but I'm not very impressed with CXL, by the way.

Had to have a pair made with it before I could form an opinion.  It's not bad, just not as nice as the latigo leather Viberg used for my green boots.  And based on how effusive everyone is about the stuff, I guess I just expected something more mind blowing.

I wouldn't do anything differently, I don't think.  I love both pairs, just for different reasons.  I kinda went on a boot binge over the last 5-6 months, so now there's nothing I really want, and I'm happy with all the new pairs I've got.

That said, the need for a new pair could strike at any time, of course.

I have a black tongue in my Merlot service boots.  No issues.  You'll likely to get stung big time, get them shipped to someone in the US and then get that person to ship to you.

Chris, I am also not a huge fan of CXL, much prefer latigo and dress leathers respectively.

I like them a lot. I was a bit worried about the colour out of the box, but as I suspected, they work really well with denim.

Walking is my main form of transportation so we'll see how they hold up to me and how I hold up to them. Today I think the boots have a slight edge.

Do you like that width?  Looks like the laces are pretty wide but comfortable.
