As an FYI for everyone still waiting on their boots from Baker's: I emailed Kyle yesterday he said that White's production has been recently running at about 10 weeks. I have not placed my order yet, still determining my tax situation. I will when I get a moment, but I do have a pair for backup just in case.

Is it still possible to join this? I just bought a pair of Redwing boots two weeks ago, I'd participate for fun, I should of asked sooner I guess. Just gave them their first polish today, it's been raining/snowing/winter sleet mix since the day I got them so they have kept my feet nice and dry at least. Got them just in time. Already got a couple scuff marks, I'm hard on shoes :-\

Honestly, and with no bias, the SD's will evolve better in my opinion.

Same as jeans, it's more about the person wearing them, their life, and what they do to care for them, than the boots themselves.

I just love these boots:

@RP: My weakness for instant gratification has left me with a first world problem: which to use as the competition pair? I'll be the contrarian here and say go with the boondockers. No reason other than the fact that I think they're cooler looking boots. By the way, I feel your dilemma- due to my impulse control failings, I have two, possibly three pairs from which to choose (I'll know about the third pair when they arrive in a few days).

Listen to the poor little rich boys, moaning about which pair of $400 - $500 boots to wear

Was wondering if anyone is planning on doing a boot care segment. I am pretty new to the world of leather boots. On the viberg website alone there is viberg leather preservative, neatsfoot oil, arctic dubbin and huberd’s shoe grease.
I know you can use saddle soap to clean and I have seen others use mink oil for leather care? So whats what, when do I clean, when do I condition and what can I protect my boot from eg water, beer.

I have read that before and I don't think the info there is that great. Some posts at the end are ok, but I think with the knowledge here the great minds could come up with some great info. When I am sinking $700 into a pair of boots I want to know what I am doing.

The only thing I'm putting on my boots is spilled beer and the blood of my enemies.

I feel sorry for your neighbourhood cats

I love the neighbourhood cats. It's my cat that I hate.
