      nope not at all imo.
one towel is on the floor, throw the super wet jeans on it, 2nd towel on top, fold jeans+towel combo (leg on leg) and start rolling and pressing the damn thing!…
takes out most of the water and no unwanted creases afterwards!

ah… Yes this is what i do as well i guess i misindertood when he said rolled in a ball I took this as lireally wadding up in a ball shape and squeezing.. Instead rolling them on top of themselves as you have described

Thanks for the clarification. These will be my first pair of unsanforized jeans and I want to make sure I do things right.

Just curious however as to how long I should hot soak for.

        Thanks!

I lay them out in hot tap water in tub - use full soda cans to keep then submerged - soak ~30-45 mins - then I put hook-end of a coat hanger through the back-center belt loop of the pants and put the loop-end of the hanger over the shower head.  Once hanging, I smooth out all the wrinkles, and let em drip dry over the tub. As I smooth/flatten them out, it pushes a lot of the water out.  But I like the "towel and roll" idea to get excess water out.

I LOVE these jeans. The 18oz denim is my absolute favorite denim. Today marks the first day of wear. So happy I decided to get these. They're stiff and hard motherfuckers right now but I'm more than willing to break them 😉

Mr. G, is this new batch of the 18oz different in any way than other batches since you and Haraki-san thought it might shrink more?

It shrinks the same amount.  We thought it would shrink more, thus this batch is about 1" oversized in the waist.

How's the thigh stretch on these babies? Love the fit but snug on the thighs which make them sit lower than I would like.

These shrunk to a 35 for me so I guess I can feel good about that. Still probably need to lose a few more lbs to feel comfortable since these are the slimmest jeans I've ever owned

So much that it would fall completely down without a belt?

I guess I get lucky or my waist is weird, but every pair of new denim I buy ends up being perfect. Not tight and not necessarily loose, right in the middle…perfect. They don't fall off if I pull them down, but I can definitely pull them all the way (wedgie style) and they're a little loose. I guess being a skinny fuck does that 😛

Yeah they would without doubt fall sans belt especially after any stretching at all from moving

Mine are lower rise than other IHs - sit pretty low on hips - and fall off with no belt.  They snug up post-wash then stretch out after 2-3 wears.

Mr. G, was the leather used for the patch this go round different than other patches? I've noticed it's a lot lighter than the patch on my 301s.
