Has SELA ever carried Sunny Sports socks? Been over a year since I've been there…

My first pair of sunny sports came from SELA. They most likely still have some

New TV shopping soon, do I go bigger (51") or smaller (43") but with more features (SMART TV, 3D etc…) ?

Got two sets in mind, both are in the same ball park cost wise, although the smaller TV is the more expensive by £40ish.

The big one is a Samsung plasma, the smaller one is a Toshiba LED.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

the bigger the better (as the US guys tend to say!) 😉

on the other hand, with the "right" features, i wouldn´t mind my TV being a tad smaller as the other one…

go for a LED and ignore the smart TV features, they are usual slow, stupid to use and you have a PC to go to the net anyway… You will play a day with them and thats it... imo.... The Toshiba 3D works fine with the glasses, but is only useful if you have enough Blu-ray's available or have access to SKY 3D stuff, if there is a programm...

And the picture quality on a plasma set is generally better.  Color reproduction is more accurate, no blurring on motion, better off angle viewing…

I have two Panasonic plasma TVs and we love them.  Not familiar with Samsung's offerings, however. Smart TV features are largely useless.

I can attest to the uselessness of Smart TV features. If you have a Playstation, XBOX, Apple TV, Roku, etc. you already have the same features. I have a Samsung 3D LED Smart TV. I don't use the smart features, at all. I've used the 3D a handful of times (there just aren't many films that utilize the technology on Blu Ray). The picture is excellent, though. I had it optimized with a calibration software program and I don't have any of the issues Chris mentioned; which, admittedly, are common problems with LEDs. I agree that for a no-fuss, great picture experience, next generation plasmas are probably the way to go. You certainly get the best value with them. Previous generation's concerns, such as burn-in, aren't an issue, anymore.

Another thing to note: the day after you buy your TV, the manufacturer will announce the next generation, which will be 33% better and 62% cheaper. You will be sad.

but the choice is 51 plasma vs 43 led… not knowing size of the room, have to go with bigger. 43 is not that big

saw a 90 led yesterday... amazing

I'm sure this doesn't apply to you, Mega. But in the US, the best time to buy a TV, other than Black Friday, is before the Super Bowl and now, during March Madness. Real helpful, I know.

IJ, yes, don't get me wrong, I love my LED; but I think you probably get more for your money with a high-end plasma.
