Be careful with the thighs in 666s as there is shrinkage horizontally and vertically, would say around 3%. waist in 18 oz 666s will stretch back to presoak measurement after some wear as zwer explained above. Thighs will be tougher. I wear mine not that much to really give feedback on thigh stretching. Maybe another member may chim in.
All in all the devils fit is really nice and cant go wrong with it. But believe me it is a superslim jeans 🙂 maybe u check also presoak measurements in a 33 in the 666s and calculate postsoakmeasurements deducting 3% plus add expected stretch. Good luck

      Cheers,
      David

thanks david. i think i can fit a 32 in the thigh if the size is right. oddly self edge has the thigh at 11.6 and not 11.9 as listed on this site. that .3 could make a difference…

giles and kiya measure the thigh differently, as shown on their respective sites
generally speaking, thigh will measure about 0.5 more by giles method

No prob ian816. Jaco is right re measuring. again the thighs will shrink lets say from a 11.9 pre to approx 11.5 post per IH measurements in a size 32. you wearing the thigh in your busters od at 12inches snug if i read correctly. That may give you some troubles in the 666s in a size 32 at the beginning.
would propose you measure your worn in buster od per IH measure guidelines and do some calculations thighwise compared to the 666s. Probably you will get half an inch stretch in the thighs after soak but it needs time depending what your lifestyle is and how snug you really like.
I am usually a 30 with an average "snug" 11inch thigh, i sized down to a 29 in the devils and these guys are rockstarslim, approx 9.8 inch thigh post. 😉
For Daily use a tag 30 or even 31 would have probably been better for me but still love em like that.
            Hope this helps

            Cheers,
            David

I should clarify that the snug was more for the waist (and even there not too bad) I have plenty of room in the thigh on the bb od. I have these from self edge http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=734 in a 32 and the thigh is snug but good. So all in all the 32 in the 666s should work. Thanks for all the help. I gotta say this is the friendliest and most snark free forum I have found.

Question for those who've had the Devil-18s for awhile - just got mine - 2nd pair of IHs - first pair 21oz BBs. Of course, once you get a pair it is addictive, so I was reading this thread, and had to try the raws. First of all, OMG - LOVE this denim - so impressed.  Anyway, I soaked ~45 mins, warm water - hung em up - but as far as I can tell, got almost no shrinkage.  Initially I was scared they'd shrink so much I couldn't get em back on, but it was opposite. These are tagged 38s, same as my Beatles. I'm especially surprised about the length - I'm wearing them cuffed, which is fine, but expected more shrinkage. Will these shrink more? Should I try again, soak longer, hotter water??? Or wash them??? Really curious if I should expect them to shrink more, or just not worry about it.

You will get more shrinkage if you place in hot water with some sort of lubricant and agitate the hell out of them.  You are trying to reduce the frictions between the warp and weft yarns as much a possible.

couple of questions - if i wear a w33 in the beatle buster overdyed (snug) would i want a w33 in the 666s assuming it would shrink with the soak or a w32 (does it stretch much over time)? also any idea on restock? thanks.

                      ian

Ian, having owned both pairs in the same sizes, I suggest going with a size 33 in the 666S. My size 33 busters are my best fitting pair, and I had to sell my size 32 666S cause they were too tight.

Thanks G - I double checked measurements before and after - I actually gained 1/2" in the waist, lost a fraction in the rise/thigh/knee/leg, and lost only 1/2" in the inseam.  I think the inseam just "seems" a lot longer than my 21oz BBs due to where they sit on my waist due to the different cut.  And what do you mean by "lubricant" - detergent?  To be clear, are you saying try soaking again, real hot tap water, and agitate more (I didn't do that at all because I was worried about them shrinking too much). And how long?  Again, I can't say enough about this denim - I REALLY like the 21 oz but the raw is a whole other deal.  The texture is like nothing I've experienced - you can just tell they will be special.  Tx for your patience.

Based on the one's I just got, the waist will really stretch back out and the shrinkage is minimal - for example, shrinkage on the devil's was nothing like the Roy4s I have.  I was really paranoid about the shrinkage, but it's not so much. It's always a tough call buying online, but I think you can manage the shrinkage and these will stretch out nicely (even though they are really "substantial" denim).  I got the same tag size in the raws as the sanforized - and that's going to be fine (for me).  You WILL NOT REGRET buying this denim - it is special.

Agree you're safe with same tag size in raws and 21oz - that was good for me - the 18s stretch, esp. the waist.  But I don't know nuthin about how the overdyes behave… go with what the experts say.  But I can say the 18s are great - can't imagine you'll be disappointed - but obviously need to get sizing right.

Elclintor, You had the buster over dyed right? And where they snug in the thigh or roomy? And where the 666s tight all over or just too tight in one place. I'm thinking the 32's will be spot on but now you have me wondering…

Busters have plenty of breathing room everywhere. The 666s were too tight in the top block and the thighs. They were fine for a while, but after a few washes they do shrink up.

I'm looking to get a pair of 33 666S, because the denim is amazing.

There's one particular area that's bothering me.  I'm not going to say what it is yet, because I'm wondering if anyone else will notice it, or if it's all in my head…. 😉

Haha, is the material "bulging out" some?  Is that what you are noticing?  I had the same issue - when I first got my BBs my wife immediately laughed and groped me - it's the same with the 18-Devils - wouldn't worry about it.  Only other thought I have is you might try soaking them again, real hot tap, and agitating them, to get all the shrinkage.  G suggested that to me (mine did not shrink much at all) but I haven't done it yet - gonna wear em awhile.  Personally I think they look like a good fit on you, but it appears you've definitely got some extra room - and for sure they will stretch - pretty quickly.  FYI I went with same tag size I normally wear in IH and glad I did.
