a member of thefedoralounge forum (also a member of this forum) said that he went with the exact same size in his White's as he went with in all of his Red Wing, Yuketen, Alden, etc. …going to do the same! US9D in RW, Yuketen and UK8.5-9 in Viberg -> ca c'est US9D in White's pour moi!

I have a pair of Viberg Service boots that are size 10.  I ordered a pair of White's Semi Dress in size 10.5, and they were too big.  I'll probably end up with a size 10.  My US size in most athletic shoes (Nike, Mizuno, New Balance, Asics, Puma) is 11.

EDIT: Width isn't going to make a lot of difference, Finn.  With lace up boots, you can generally tie them tighter or looser enough to compensate for the difference.  I'd say go with your normal width, i.e., if you usually buy standard width shoes, do that with these, too.

How big were they on you Chris? I ordered an 11.5D and wear 11.5 in redwing and 12 in athletic shoes..

                      would an insole fix it?

Anyone still on the fence about sizing, please listen to Furatto and Chris. This is the same advice I give. Gonna suck when all you guys have boots that are too big because you didn't listen.

                          Learn from Chris' mistake.

I think they were about a half size too large.  The arch support was pressing into the ball of my foot and I couldn't adjust them into a fit that I liked with an insole.  Maybe others would be able to do so, but I just wasn't happy.

                            This is the important part!
The lesson here is that you should send in the sizing kit to confirm your size if you can't try on a pair.  It may take a while longer, but it's worth it.  Besides, a custom order is going to take two months anyway, so what's an extra few days?
