I have a very high instep and Engineers are typically a problem for me. I asked Morgan how we should deal with this. I like his approach…
…....we can build them in a 9.5 E on the 310 and stretch the fuck out of the vamp and shaft.If passive aggression isn't your thing, we can the upper in a size 10 and throw it on the 9.5 last. We'll still give it a stretch. Let me know!

Morgan, I just received the Tanned Vintage Hikers from Leffot and, although beautiful, they're far from being wearable out of the box. (Insanely stiff.) Should I oil them and or treat them like a new baseball glove in an attempt to loosen them up?
Neatsfoot Oil. Apply it liberally prior to wearing them out a few times, and don't tell your better half where it comes from.

@Morgan:
Looks to me like the good Oil Tan we use on our work boots. Where did it come from? Could be Horse Butt, but I'd need to know the source.
sry but i can´t really tell you were it´s from, since i´ve also just quoted it from a page or two before :-\
Right you are. Well, safe bet is it's Oil Tan. We don't produce a lot of Service Boots in Horse Butt on either the 310 or 2040 lasts.

If I'm not mistaken, this is horse butt(?):
