Nope, Tani on the upper west side.  But looks like I should check out Graham Fowler!

Ah. I still haven't been there. I checked out Whites site a few months ago for local dealers. I saw Tani on there but I called a few times and they never answered.

      What did they have?

Only had a couple of minutes but they had the smoke jumpers in a couple of colors and a lower boot, might have been the dress.

Going to go back and dig into the inventory a bit more, I'll report back!

          Come on back Mega!

Rafa, my rubber heel shows more signs of wear then the leather sole. Prob have to replace the heel before I resole the toe area.

thanks a lot for the info mate…
how long are you wearing yours by now?
you able to post some pics?

not sure if i should put a 430 vibram sole on them or if i should just go with a single or double leather sole...i guess that would look better on the SD!?

well i´m not sure if "need" is the right word to go with 🙂 are there reasons one "need" a rubber sole?
imo both options look pretty nice (both = both of the SD boots you´re selling that is!)

Cheers 🙂 by need I mean how's the weather? If sheeite then Vibrams might be the way! Slipping over if not made to look like break dancing is a bugger. A good cobbler can add a very thin rubber sole to aid grip without changing the aesthetic.

you need a rubber sole if you wear them in the rain or snow a lot. cycling with leather soles is also not too pleasant.

the soles on my double leather SD's show wear but are still far from needing a replacement after two years of service.

first thought that came into my mind was that they could replace my a tad too narrow fitting 4HSxViberg boots…hmmmm?

I love that natty CXL, too. I wish it wasn't so popular in the HWBC, but I can see why it is.

nice one! it is also illustrating my point that natural CXL is Horweens version of pre-aged. Basically natural CXL shows
all existing blemishes, not only your own. It also reacts to oils and preservatives in a much more visible way, simply because it is lighter.
I do like the look, but for HWBC I don't think it is a choice that should compete in the same class as finished leather variations.

i somehow have a feeling that when oiling/maintaining a pair of natural cxl boots, that they somehow just gonna end up as a "normal" pair of brown boots in the long run :-\

here´s another one for y´all (photoshopped together!)

black cxl toe, natural cxl shaft, etc. … that´s a double midsole right?

                                            UNPOPULAR POST ALERT

Those pics show exactly why I don't like Natural Chromexcel personally. I feel that they are an "easy fix" for leather evo, and therefore feel artificial to me.

The best comparison I can give is that when I first got into quality Japanese denim (barring my forays with Bape, NBHD and Wtaps), I went straight for Samurai, as the evo pics I had seen looked incredible. I bought some 710's, and they evolved beautifully and very quickly, I went with S5000VX 21oz for HWDC1, same thing. Now when I compare my Samurai evo, to some of the evo I see on Iron Heart Jeans, and other brands (Sugar Cane, Roys, 3sixteen, Dry Bones etc…), I find I have a feeling of artificiality about some of the Samurai stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Samurai jeans, and when I see what guys like Dingo in the HWDC have done then there are few better jeans out there, but part of me feels like they were made for an evo "quick fix", same with natty cxl (as all the cool kids are calling it  😉 ).

                                            Sorry  😞
