Samurai Jeans

I can't tell you much more about it. MaxPower asked Gordon some month ago and he already spoke about these and leaked some infos..
They should be made of the 17oz black VX denim and the other pair maybe of the 15oz Texas Cotton denim (or again 17oz indigo VX denim like last time). Not much known about the other details like leatcher patch, buttons or thread color -
Really love my 0510's but if anyone is aware of a similar rise/fit in any other brand please let me know!

The good thing about the 510 is, that you can get it in different denim variations. That said, you can look into many different fits from other brands that all should resemble a ‘40s-‘50s fit.
I can’t guarantee you that they are all similar but take a look at Fullcount 0105, Denime XX, Skull 5000, Warehouse 1000XX and 1001XX, Sugarcane 47, Evisu 2001, SDA 101.
All those are 501 repros from the 40s to 50s, they should have similar dimensions. Just compare the measurements.
I don’t know the IH equivalent but it could be the 634 or maybe better, the 1955. -
Awesome, thanks B_F, you know your jeans! I have a 634S as well but looking to try other brands. Thanks!

Hey guys,
I'm debating on getting a pair of 666s or the 710xx. I'm a skinny guy, tts is sz 29 so slim jeans look much better of me. Based on the measurements the 666s is slimmer, but silhouette wise, how do they compare? Also, the denim. Which one fades faster, gets softer, etc.. Is Samurai construction comparable to IH? And ultimately, which one would you guys recommend?
Thanks!

IMO, it's a coin flip between the IH-666S and Samurai 710XX. Both are great raw unsanforized denims, so fading potential is there for both. I'm pretty sure the 710XX 19oz fades a little quicker with more marbling, but I'm wearing the 18oz in the IH-634SV cut and my thighs have intense vertical falling with great contrast on the high wear areas. Maybe someone with experience with both can chime in…...

In my experience, Samurai is less durable, due to the use of cotton constructional thread. Poly cotton thread, like IH uses, is simply stronger and longer lasting. If you like popped stitches, though, Samurai is great.By the way, I'm not saying that Samurai construction is sub-par, it's just that they're going for a different aesthetic. All cotton construction is more of a pre-WWII vibe.EDIT: Ignore this- as Clint points out below, both pairs have 100% cotton thread, so my input is irrelevant…

The 666S uses cotton thread, so construction wise, they are about the same.. I've owned both pairs, and they are different fits. The 666S is slimmer in the top block and thighs, but the 710xx tapers more from the knee down.
I'm partial to IH, so of course I recommend the 666S. The 18oz denim is some amazing stuff. But you can't go wrong with either pair..
Cheers!

Fit-wise, the 710's are more similar to the Beatle Busters. I have both, and they are a very similar fit. And the Busters are also available in raw… just throwing that out there.

*on a sidenote, being tall sucks when it comes to finding denim. That is all.
