Not sure if it is your style, but the IH-527J has much longer arms….

Probably a long shot, haven't had to do it with heavy weight material but think there is any chance I would get any stretch out if the sleeves if I got them wet and did the step and pull method?? Don't really have the possibility of returning it cause my son got destructive while I wa in the shower this morning and yanked the sales tag off of it.

Nope.  And in fact when the elbow creases form, it will ride higher up you arm…

Yes I figured that to be the case… And I've always been a type III kinda guy I love them. Have had several in the last 13 years. It's a staple in my wardrobe.. The 527 is nice but just not me.

I'd just rock it with the short sleeves, as long as you don't wear a long sleeve shirt underneath it, it shouldn't look to0 weird. But I dig the Frankenstein look!

Yeah… I don't think I can justify a jacket of that price not fitting proper... I'm sure ill find a buyer

BTW G… just putting this out there (though I doubt it will happen) but If you and H ever decide to run a Frankenstein arm length  on the IH -526J you can count on selling me your first one… Man, I LOVED the build of this jacket... still upset it didn't work out

How long are your arms? Maybe you should try 526jod in xl. It's as fitted as a 526 in large, but the sleeves are 3,5 cm longer. I have pretty long arms, too. 526jod work very well for me…

                    why so serious?

I'm in the same boat. I have an XL 536Jod and the fit is spot on for my monkey arms.

I'd go for an extra inch in the arms too. I just measured my current type III I wear and the arms are 27". Every other measurement is spot on to the xl. Wanted to pick one up when they're restocked, any chance the arms on any of the next batch might have an extra 1"/1.5" in one of the xl?

just wondering…. how does the length on this jacket look in the body on picture i posted earlier in the thread. Obviously the sleeves are up to my elbows but...

I was thinking abut picking up a superblack sonny vest.....

I know they are suppose to be short but not sure if this one is TOO short on me... thought I would get a second opinion before I get my hopes up again. Thanks in advance. 😉

Personally I think it looks good. As I understand it,  the type III is supposed to come down to the belt and it looks like yours did.

The 9526V (sonny vest) is also longer in the body. so you shouldn't have a problem with it..

Tatmantall, per you fit pic, it's a perfect TRUCKER jacket fit. They are supposed to be short so, you can wear it buttoned while driving your big rig. Ask Giles, he likes his type III hem between his nipples and belly button (haha).  And if your only a L or XL, an IH type III will never be longer than 26" and that's with added length. You may be too tall for the fit your going after…..

Actually I thought the fit was on for the body (it is exactly how my old beat up levis type 3 sits as well) and is wear I like it… But was just asking for second opinion... The issue with this jacket in particular was the sleeves... Like I said just thought second opinion couldn't hurt I'm weird like that I guess. Thanks tho mikec

Sorry about that. I'd get rid of it, the sleeves are ridiculously short on you. Size up or check out the 6526J-Corduroy version or the IH-534-Hunting jacket. I know the hunting jacket isn't a type III, but I think it would go with your style. Both the 6526J and 534, both have sleeves about an inch longer than the 526J. Good luck.
