To be honest I'm not sure if it is black or brown smooth leather. I feel this configuration will work best for what I want it to be. Anything, anywhere, any time. Steel toe for work and moto. Classy enough for going out and being sociable.
8" Height. Lace-to-toe. Mine will be steel toe, double mid sole, vibram 700 sole, standard heel, brass eyes/hooks, brown leather liner, rolled top, and leather pull loop.
Can you still do a steel toe with a lace to toe design?

Like I said at the start, for me a boots contest is about looking after your boots through their wear, not trashing them. Yup, resoles are allowed, although it would be a bit naughty if 25 pairs of contest Bounty Hunters arrived at Whites for refurbishment three months before the contest ends.

A resole and a refurbishment are two totally different things. A resole is necessary maintenance. A refurb reminds me of the time a woman used public transportation DURING the Boston Marathon, and would have won, if she didn't get caught. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_Ruiz

After much thinking, and drinking, and realising that adding an extra few people won't exactly make this contest any harder to organise (as I'm not really organising anything new), I am opening the contest up to a further 25 people. Come get some.

Yeah, I completely agree.
I'm glad we can resole. I'll probably need a heel replacement after a few months.

I think that is a completely unfair assessment. Different kind of boot and as far as I am concerned a tremendous boot company that makes outstanding timeless product. -
I didn't mean that in a bad way I was just saying there is a noticeable amount of difference in size.
In reading my statement I can see how it could be understood that way; however, it was in regard to overall size of boot compared to other two… by no means is that in regards to quality or anything else.

… And the reason I noticed is ALL of my shoes currently are alden and just have stepped over to purchase a pair of viberg. Alden is one off my favorites obviously if that's all I own currently
