Like those, any idea what the build spec is? I'm assuming black leather, but it's got a blueish tint to it? Not usually a fan of black boots, but they look really good

To be honest I'm not sure if it is black or brown smooth leather. I feel this configuration will work best for what I want it to be. Anything, anywhere, any time. Steel toe for work and moto. Classy enough for going out and being sociable.

8" Height. Lace-to-toe. Mine will be steel toe, double mid sole, vibram 700 sole, standard heel, brass eyes/hooks, brown leather liner, rolled top, and leather pull loop.

can't believe the soles/heels on your white's are that "used" already! looks like a lot of resoling needs to be done during those two years!? :-\

Yeah, oh well. Overpronation, walking miles a day on concrete, and constant wear will do that.

Urbs you've just blown my mind. I'm going to guess it's to do with the insole/lasts buttttt…...

In the Whites you've worn down the back left
In the others you've worn down the back right

Usually one's gait doesn't change, consistent wear patterns etc. All my shoes have the same wear patterns. What's the story??????

I think he took a picture of a left and two right boots.  The wear is at the back outer edge on all of them.

I over pronate as well,  but I like to think that once I wear down all that fussy heel material that gets in the way of my stride, there's little left to wear away. The re-heeling doesn't happen as one might assume it needs to.

Like I said at the start, for me a boots contest is about looking after your boots through their wear, not trashing them. Yup, resoles are allowed, although it would be a bit naughty if 25 pairs of contest Bounty Hunters arrived at Whites for refurbishment three months before the contest ends.

A resole and a refurbishment are two totally different things. A resole is necessary maintenance. A refurb reminds me of the time a woman used public transportation DURING the Boston Marathon, and would have won, if she didn't get caught. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_Ruiz
