Random Rants
-
My last Windows desktop computer got so riddled with malware, spyware and viruses that it literally burned up the CPU trying to keep up with them. I had that sucker tricked out as far as I could, and the computer was nearly six years old, so I couldn't complain too much
I bought my Macbook because I had less than stellar experiences with Windows based laptops. They were slow and difficult to upgrade, which is a must for me on Windows
So far, no major fails on my Macbook, I actually find it easier to upgrade the HD on my Macbook than it was on my Windows based laptop, the computer still flies at top speed almost three years later. I did upgrade the RAM myself but it was totally unnecessary. I'm running a 500GB hybrid drive at the moment and will probably switch to an SSD soon. My battery is getting long in the tooth as well, going to have to install a new one (only $100). All this being said, I don't think the new Macbooks are designed to be opened up
While I spent a lot more money on my laptop, if you calculate how much I make per hour and multiply by the number of hours I didn't have to wait for system restarts, running spyware, anti virus, defragging, upgrading components, and just random Windows frustration, I'm practically making money. Time is money pal

Just to comment on this, the macbook pro's still have replaceable ram and hard drives, however the ram on the airs is soldered down. You can replace hard drives on the air, but it will void the warranty as apple does not consider it a consumer serviceable part.

Totally not aimed at Chris or anyone else, but I find the "I hate Apple" brigade to be even more annoying than the "I love Apple" brigade. They make consumer electronics, buy them or not, just stop sexualising the company either positively or negatively.
-
I'm allergic to apples. True story.
Sorry to hear that. Apples are wonderful. I especially love Honeycrisp apples. They're delicious. Pink Lady and Jazz apples are pretty awesome, too.
And my technological curse had extended to another day-
Sure it's just a cheap point & shoot camera, but it takes good pictures and it's easy to use. Spiderwebbing the display sucks.

I did too

I thought your flooring was cracked… Feckin eejit strikes again...
Nope, floor is good. I dropped the camera outside on the concrete while I was taking some pics of my new pair for the HWDC-2. I was doing a standing denim shot when the breeze picked up. I grabbed for the jeans, and dropped the camera in the process. Brilliant move- save the jeans that would be completely unharmed, at the expense of the delicate piece of electronics.
Camera still works, so at least it's not a real loss, just an ugly annoyance.

Woah woah woah woah sweet child o' mine…... you know what jeans you're going to use ???

Just arrived Friday, and yesterday was Benjamin's birthday party and the laptop crash, so yeah, I was busy. Sorry.
I went with the Studio D'Artisan X's-33 I PM'd you about a while back, Mega. Really interesting denim on those things.
-
Yeah, I wanted something unique, and they are definitely that.
