me too, the 2-tone leather laces are also a better look imo. How "hard" did you find them out of the box, since I was really suprised that my Jobmaster were so comfy right away…

Thanks, Guys!  They weren't rediculusly stiff by any means, but having the optional leather lining makes them obviously stiffer in the shaft since they're twice as thick.  One thing I will state is that they easily have the most comfortable soles of any new boots I've had.  My main problem has been with the lace-to-toe design which rubs my toes a bit, but I think that problem is solving itself with each wear.

Same problems with mine.  Had mine with a lace to toe design as well and it rubs the 'knuckle' of my big toe.  How did you deal with it?  Thick wool socks?

Not crazy thick, but QUALITY wool socks helped me.  I got a couple of pairs of Darn Tough Tactical Series and I think they're great!  Try them out and hopefully you'll get some relief as well!

I used NOS Finnish Army shoe polish and equivivalent to KIWI polish. First the other then the other, depending which comes first into my hand from my shoecare box.

How would you say it stacks up strength wise?

Very tough. You can tell it's quality by its weight and how supple it is. It's also evident that it was thoroughly tanned as it's black all the way through. Not white or grey in the middle like some lesser quality leathers. I actually like it better than the brown leather that my Jobmasters are made with.
