Apparently more boots survive from WW1 than WW2 because they were made of horsehide, and that's generally longer lasting than cow. That said, I remember chatting to a bespoke shoemaker, and he reckoned that it cracked.
As far as I know there are only a handful of tanneries supplying horsehide these days: Horween in Chicago, Shinki in Japan, and I think that there's another in Italy. Chances are that Viberg will be using Horween.
Minimum of four boots per style / colour? Anyone else up for a pair of wax flesh Hikers?

As per my post earlier. Retailers are now restricted to ordering a minimum of 4 per style/makeup. This makes it much more difficult to get you guys exactly what you want.
