I don't mind the insoles though leather ones would be nice…Can't find them here, just the foam insoles.
Custom sizing can be tricky, I've never tried it, I just go with my usual size and when in doubt I go a half size
    up. So far it's worked.

EVERYTHING is spot-on with these except for the toe-rub issue.  I'm sure that its due to the lace-to-toe design, which my feet/toes don't seem to like.  The left foot/boot relationship is going well, but the right side hasn't conformed just yet.  But to be fair to the boots, I've only worn them approx. 8 hours total, so I'm hopeful they'll come around.  And I haven't worn heavy socks yet so I'm sure that would help as well, I just wanted some ideas on how to get some quick relief if possible!

The great thing about lace-to-toe is that you can make fit adjustments all the way to the toes. It might sound overly obvious, but try loosening the laces all the way down and see if that helps your comfort level.  I've had my Jobmasters for over a year now, and I still have days where I get that rubbing.

Wait, I just reread your post. Do you mean the tips of your toes are rubbing or the sides?

It's the top of my toes that rub.  I've got another pair of boots that have a formed toe box and they rub the tops of my toes too.  I don't think my feet/toes are funky (not in shape anyway!), so I'm sure others have similar woes from time to time.  I'll just keep wearing them a few hours at a time and hopefully the hotspot will conform soon.

i have owned two wesco's and they were 9,5 E, while my white's are 9E and 9EE depending on the model. (i add width to those i am lkely to wear with thicker socks). i'd say the wesco's run a bit smaller, but probably not a full size.

I was wondering about the size of those boots.. weather they can fit you G-san.. IIRC you are a 9UK in most boots? Anyway, you'll figure out a way to make them fit.. Take away two more toes..?

would anyone be able to speak on the quality of the Wesco burgundy leather?  I know it is 5oz and 2mm thick…I posted a similar question in the Viberg thread because I really like the idea of the Merlot CXL but am not sure how it measures up against the Wesco Burgundy...if anyone has any thoughts on quality comparisons between the Wesco and Viberg engineers would be grateful.

Sorry to be so late to chime in but the burgundy leather is beautiful.  It seems to be a little lighter than the black leather on my Jobmasters but I'm stil happy I went with burgundy.  My only regret is not opting for the leather lining.  I've always gone with unlined Jobmasters for my work and have been happy with them but it seems like it would be worth the money to add to a pair of Bosses.

The lining is a nice touch. I did a black lining on my Boss boots, and it doesn't look like much but it feels nice, and gives the boots some support in the shaft. I was walking my brother-in-law through his order, and he opted for a tobacco lining, and it turned out great! I love the contrast in color from the outer black shaft, to the inner tobacco lining.
