You could easily go down a whole size.  And give those boots to me!

Well, I wouldn't wear boots/shoes that big. They're at least a whole size maybe even 1½ size too big for you. (no, I don't want those 😉  )

If anyone is wanting to figure out their Viberg size then this is the basic fitting kit. There is a more complicated version that's a PDF you print out.

Jason said that he can use it to match your foot shape to a last, making tweaks where necessary. If you're spending $600 or $700 on a pair of boots then getting the best fit possible makes sense.

                      Viberg Fitting Kit

If you just do the three steps following then we will have the basics needed to fit about 90% of the population.  Don't do this if you have any issues with your feet, including those that require orthotics since our boots fit snug not giving enough room for the inserts.

Please follow the directions as close as possible.  The three main measurements we need are:

                      • Length of each foot heel to toe while seated in centimetres and at the END of the work day so your feet will be swollen their largest.

                        • The width of your feet measured at the ball of your foot.  Measure this side to side at the ball of your foot.

                        • The width of your foot also needs to be determined by wrapping a tape measure all the way around your foot 360 degrees.  This will give us the circumference of the ball of your feet.

                      • Finally, take two sheets of blank letter size paper (in North America 8.5" X 11") This is just the printer paper usually in packs of around 200 sheets.  Trace each foot, one foot per piece of paper.  If you have big feet you may need to place your foot corner to corner just to make it fit.

Also, on the paper you traced your foot on, please draw a line heel to toe then measure it and write all this on the tracing near the line drawn. Once for each foot so I have a scale to go by when you scan them into your computer to attach to an email back to me. Or fax them 250-361-9372 or send to our snail mail address.

I have a more complex kit that requires being printed out but if your feet don't have any major issues and you seem to fit in the majority shoes then the larger kit is not warranted.  The only other situation where the bigger kit is needed bis if you want a tall boot above the average 12 inch height.

I don't know why his big toe would be situated in the middle quite like that but keep in mind, for the most part, Viberg boots run quite narrow and snug in and around the heel. I'd argue that my pair is roughly a half size too big–length-wise--but given the width, I don't believe I'd be able to size down.

I am with graeme, shoreman and madmonday. maybe use an insole and walk the boot in. as the sole will crack overtime the boot will mold more to your feet and gets more comfortable.

this is what happened with my horsehide engineer. bought it in UK8 my usual size is US 8.5. put in an insole, wear it almost everyday and now it perfectly shaped to my foot and can also wear it without insole depending on the socks I wear. a UK7.5 would have been to small for me in this one.

the same procedure goes with my flathead workboots. bought a 26.5cm which is a Europe 42, could easily have bought a 25.5cm but was not sure about the toes, so I stayed with the 26.5 and am happy I did.

better a bit too big than too small imho as feet will "grow" when getting older and wiser 🙂

                            Cheers,
                            David

I also would like concur with the rest of the gentlemen's regarding the sizing of Viberg. Mine you may call it half a size big but with boot socks and with my feet getting colder i tend to wear double socks and the fit is perfecto.. love my new scout boots but going to wear my pull on viberg during winter as the sole gives me more grip…

Well if you sent in the sizing info and this is the result, then why do you want to go smaller?  I have lots of boots where my toes don't reach the end, but they feel fine, so I've never given the sizing a second thought.
