Considering it, never tried roughout boots before, would be nice to try something not-very-expensive the first time to see if I can pull it off

IMO,  it's japanese aesthetics.  one can't appreciate the artistry & craftsmanship that goes into each pair,  if you look at it just from a "western" point of view.

i see it as "next level" shit__ a more dressier SemiDress. 
a cosmopolitan take on an iconic  "work boots" from a japanese vernacular.
a jap twist,  if you may,

if you think about it,  [they] don't even wear White's [nor jap jeans] the same way the west does

I can appreciate the workmanship, and the attention to detail on the White Klouds is absolutely insane.

I'm not a fan of some of the more exaggerated Whites builds, and the White Klouds are a step beyond that. That said, I do like the green pair.

I think those White Klouds are beautiful, but I cant get behind that uber high polished heel, it almost looks like polyurethane or some other plastic coating.

Yours truly getting a fitting by Goto-san (aka Mr. White Kloud) at Mushmans last weekend.

Not planning on getting anything at the moment, but Goto-san is willing to build a new custom last for my large feet.
