      @Chris:

      @joesaintjohn:

      Those look like my Navy Vibergs G-San is getting built for me.

      And your Vibergs will be cheaper; if my math is correct, those navy White's are over $1000.  Yikes.

      bahahaha

      Just had to correct this.

      If those are just standard White's Navy Chromexcel 5" Semi-Dress Boots then they cost $389.95 in the US if you get them from Baker's. Which I'm assuming is less than half of what custom IH/Viberg boots will probably run.

      Once these White's/Wescos/Vibergs/Etc. get to the Asian market the price triples for some reason.

          Yeah, all I did was convert the yen to dollars.  I know White's aren't anywhere near that expensive for us in the US.  I didn't bother to check and see if it was possible to do that exact build, or if it was some Japanese market exclusive.  Nonetheless, I won't be buying a pair any time soon.  I've got two pairs of boots coming my way before the end of the year, so I'm done for a while.

                the fifth of those i keep, the ninth also counting those i've sold. meanwhile all other shoes just feel like they have no footbed support whatsoever. My RW's especially, but also my Wesco boots.

                                I don't ride a motorcycle or work construction so I went for Chromexcel. I got the heel counter made of black smooth though, to help the life of the boots.

                                  Shane, the black CXL is really nice and soft. It'll make for a comfortable boot almost right out of the box. That being said, I think you made the right choice with the counter. The black smooth seems to be way more robust than the CXL.  Can't wait to see your new boots!

                                    Yeah I can't wait. I have Alden Indys in Brown CXL and they are extremely comfortable. The CXL on the Aldens isn't nearly as thick as White's or as well supported. But I did notice on my Aldens that the heel had a lot of scuffing and nicks, so that's why I went with the black smooth.

                                      Nice make-up. You're exactly right about the heel. Heel on my cxl Alden's is also beat up pretty bad.
                                      But, why the block heel?

                                        Looks.

                                        I had to email Kyle to see if I could get them, wasn't an option on the site. But I'm sure it will be fine.

                                        I have a block heel on my Aldens and Vibergs as well.

                                          That cuban heel might look a little funny, but once you get used to it, it's awesome! I absolutely love all of my boots with the cuban heel. My Aldens are pretty effed up on the heel as well. So much that the stitching has been worn away. They are in desperate need of repair.
