In my opinion, it's always better to have a little room in the waist and avoid the sprayed-on thighs look.
-
How did they look just stacked? Was it too much?
-
hey guys,
i just picked up a pair of these, fit is pretty damn perfect when i try them on.
Only thing is, the waist is where i want it to be now (theres a tiny bit of room).. im worried after they stretch.Should i soak these before wearing? how much do you think they'll shrink? and then stretch back out again?
i'm hesitant to ever wash or soak my denim, as im 6'7 and i cant afford to lose any length!
anyone who has a pair out there, what's your experience with the stretching? especially if they're not skin tight to begin with.
thanks!

Well, they're sanforized, so you shouldn't get much shrinkage at all; maybe .5" or so is about the standard. To cut down on the stretching in the waist, you should wear a belt. Even if they aren't tight, they'll stretch some in the waist simply from movement. No way around that, really. I'm not intimately familiar with the SBG denim, so I can't give you any more specific info, sorry.

well thats a good start anyway! thanks man.
I may end up just ordering the size down and just comparing when i have both in my hands. -
This denim will stretch a lot, so i agree with chris, belt is the only way to avoid it. If you size down you will just put more pressure on the waist when you sit down and lean forward. It will end up being almost the same waist size if you don´t use a belt.
But if you can fit your thighs into a smaller size, maybe you should do that.Enjoy

Another vote for a good belt. I'm glad you are going to get these. They really are a great cut/great denim.

So, based on Giles' comments earlier in this thread, I've gone for the 32 in these (that's definitely it on the denim front for the foreseeable future though… :-[). Was torn between 32 and 33, but waist measurements and 'last pair in stock' meant the 32 seemed the sensible way to play it
My 34 IHxB01 are a great, snug-but-not-tight fit in the waist and I have some room for manoeuvre in the thigh with the 555. Decided to go for these over the 666Sod in the end - loving the initial fade pics I've seen so far and think I'd have struggled with TDF waist/rise/thigh. A proper black pair is missing from the wardrobe at the moment too.
Can't wait.

So you have a BB in 34 that fit snug? hope 32 works for you then…
-
The BB in 34 will have a waist measurement of 33 though so it's not such a big leap.

Yep - waist of the 32 555 is actually 0.5 bigger than the 34 BB, according to the charts. Hopefully I've got the measurements right…
-
Ok, a few quickly taken fit pics - would be great to get your thoughts before I give my own take on 'em…
-
Looks spot on.

Thanks Mega, that's how I'm feeling too. Great up top and below the knee, but pretty tight around the thigh at the moment - can't quite believe there's only 0.3 inch difference from my BBs.
They'll be bang-on when they give a little bit around the thigh

Awesome fit GM..Ur fit is exactly how these should look. Love this cut more and more
