IMHO, the best IH denim is the raw unsanforized 18oz. IMO, way better than the super processed 21oz. Before everyone gets all stupid, this is my OPINION!!!!

Mike, I do like it that you just come on here and throw out opinions for a lil' debate. However, I would say that it's the 21oz that really sets IH apart from anything else in the denim world. The softness and sheen is unlike anything else out there and the resulting fades are so different from Sammies, TFH, SDA etc etc.

I like natural though. I'm not into additional processes like singeing, calendaring, and sanforizing.  After seeing the 21oz in many different states and owning the 18oz, there is no need for all the processes, when its super soft after a week of wear. However, I do get, how people like Sanforized fabrics because most of the shrink is out.

Hey Mike- what do you think of the other unsanforized IH denims, like the 19 oz and the 21/23 oz?

I love that shit. That's why I was in the Haraki thread asking for a raw unsanforized that ends up at 21oz. I'm also in love with natural indigo, but that's another story.

I suspected that was going to be your answer. 😉  I've only seen the 19 oz in real life, but it's really nice stuff.  I like both STF and sanforized denim, but you definitely get a different look and feel with the less processed fabric.

Let's see… I've handled the unsanforised 19 oz (SEXIH07), washed version of that (SEXIH07bk), 21 oz (634S and BBs), 18 oz raw (BB raw, had them here for a day - IT COUNTS!..), and 25 oz...

If I could develop one jeans, in one fabric, it'd be the SEXIH07 in 25 oz...

My personal favorite is the 19oz, but there's something very comforting about the 21oz. It's a "good for everything" fabric since it's comfortable, breathes well and looks nice. I find that the unsanforized fabrics don't breathe as well

The 18oz is pretty close to the 19oz.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

25oz, I likes me denim heavy like myself, I guess. Something about the combo of that heavy, yet so soft makes it my fave.

really would love to try a pair of 25oz'ers…think that might be sth for 2013, but let's wait and see. for now i had the 18oz 666Sod, the 21oz 7301S and 555-03 sbg and the 21/23oz 634s-raw...now - in my opinion at least - you can't really compare the different denims that much if you own them all in different cuts. the best way would be if you would have had all the different denims in the same size and cut so you'd be able to make personal experiences with'em.
I really love the 21oz on my 555-03 and the 21/23oz on my 634s-raw...both of them are somehow "better" as the 18oz from the 666Sod...better when it comes to breathability, feeling on the body, stubbornness and comfyness (stretch etc.)...and the fading potential is also pretty dope if you ask me!...
