Berlin - October 2012

Just back from sharing the nightcap with the gang. At a place appropriately called "WhiteTrash Fast Food" - imagine a hard rock café apart from the said franchise, a labyrinthine structure with a stage downstairs with a live band playing hard rock and an upstairs restaurant with a not really inexpensive eatery. Only spent the final hour with the guys but had a great time.
This forum really is second to none in creating a mutual spirit. Tomorrow at the Burg & Schild dinner I will propose a toast to the party crowd in New York. Perhaps a spark will fly over, who knows. Say at 8 pm sharp here, that would be 2 pm NYC time. Celebrating a brotherly bond and a beautifully exaggerated love of denim.

Great occasion last night. Huge melee at the shop with an open-air BBQ (the chef sadly not wearing his sensationally fekked jeans from last time around…) and a late evening "birthday" cake, as the 5th year anniversary of Burg & Schild was the occasion for all this. Just two pics to give you the idea, one of our prime German forum contributors and the other speaks for itself...
We later repaired to the "Roter Salon" at the nearby Volksbühne, one of the prime theatre buildings of Berlin, for ensuing further party madness. A precious guitar was given away in a raffle by the B&S dudes, Berlin's homeless benefitting from the proceeds. Two live music acts entertained us, and all-in-all great fun was generally had.
Chief pleasure was meeting some guys again and getting to know for real some more forum contacts. We spoke much about the New York events and fantasized about just jumping into the next jet and popping up over there unannounced. Only fiction and wishful thinking, alas.
The toast towards New York was perhaps a little more modest than anticipated, as it was impossible to orchestrate the crowd at/in/in front of/in the vicinity of the shop. But we did drink to you guys over there! -
Oh well, what can I say? You just outdo us by miles…pics in the NYC thread already say as much! Cheers to you all, I'm with you at least mentally

Great to hear you had a marvellous time - we had a blast, I would love to do it all over again tonight (but not sure my liver or feet would agree)

Gosh, you guys make me feel like such a weako…I think it was 2-ish when I left. Sigh. Well, we can't all be so hard-boiled. As long as it was fun, all's well. And we all seem to agree on this.
As Alex used his IPhone almost permanently -or so it seemed- lotsa pics to look forward to!
