Anyway I'm pretty much in agreement. Dirt on your jeans busts up your threads… if you're into that look then by all means go for it.
Jeans companies instructing you to not wash your jeans for 6 months for 'best' results are actually hoping that you just destroy your jeans faster and then have to buy more.thats nudie peeps rubbish talk. to me, i only wear my jeans out without much dirt getting close to it so thats why i manage to wash them only after 7 months.
but to go 2 years? hmmm, i'll pass. 
and i fully agree with IJ. we paid top dollars for these jeans and IH put in lots of effort to make these jeans. so i would never do anything unnecessary to get fantastic or crazy fades. just wear them as per normal and let them be whatever they will be.
btw IJ's post was very friendly for sure.

As I read it, the "nudie peeps rubbish" comment was not directed at you, but at the manufacturers who perpetuate this idea that you should never wash your jeans.
amen! i wasn't directing at bro scroogen! i was agreeing with him about the "nudie bullshit 6 months at least wear advice".
imho, nudie is just trying to shorten the life of your denim by asking you to wear as long as possible (at least 6 months) before 1st wash which actually shortens the jean's lifespan by alot. i had a raw LVC before and the staff told me not to soak or wash and wear it for as long as possible. being new to raw jeans ( about 5-6 years ago), i followed his advice religiously and guess what?
i wore my jeans for 2 years straight. the fades were not really fantastic (maybe cos they were quite loose or i don't know why either). but i got a major crotch blow real soon and my cuff areas were all badly torned.
lesson learnt from that incident and i always soak my jeans before wear unless they are sanforized then i wouldn't since there isn't a need.so yeah, soak and wash your jeans regularly.

I think those 6 months are only a rough guideline for guys who are new into dry denim world. If you slip on a banana and land in a puddle of dogpiss and/or shit after one day of wear and still plan to go six months straight - have fun.
But as volcano said. It depends from person to person how long you are able to keep your pants away from water and detergents.

its actually quite easy to keep them away from water and detergent but the fact is, would you? doing that shortens the lifespan of your jeans. and these jeans are painstakingly made by respective people with countless hours put into it.
not forgetting the hard earned money that i used to buy the jeans. -
