u´ll have to be creative.. I would contact them - or get someone to help you with this - and I doubt that the tax ppl really know what this is worth. u´d have to fly there and bring it back with u. seriously , Giles, it´s perfect*

You're right.  I have mailed the Big H.  I may well be able to bring it back with me in May.  The other thing that I thought, is that is I can probably recoup most, if not all of the investment if I need to get rid anyway…G

Great ! This is a serious investment - but if you handle it right it will pay off. I´m the first to take a couple of lessons. Having ur own chainstitching /hemming service is like the grease that makes the machine run smoothly. Good luck - now I really cross my fingers*

Great idea.  I may charge extra for people to come and do their own - be part of the adventure 😉 😉 ;D…G

Yeah Lando, every now and then I have one.  I'm stoked to see this machine in action.

Look at what I just bought, it came out of the Levi's factory in North Carolina a few years ago:

Motors are cheapish- I seem to recall them going for about $150 in a parts supply catalog that's buried somewhere in my office.  I'm afraid of the shipping charges (and what my wife would do to me if I brought home a second antique sewing machine).
