29 will work, but Shubz, please do think about this.  They are fuller than the 634S and I don't want you to spend a load of money, whether it be with me or Kiya, on somrthing you end up not liking.  And a 29 isn't going to have a load of demand on the 2nd hand market…G

Thanks for warning me Giles. Yeah, I know…I have heard that before. I may still buy them anyway. Look, they probably won't look THE BEST on me but that's OK. It seems like many prefer the 461S on me to the Cyclist jeans (as seen by comments WAYWT thread). It's OK. But, given my body structure and general appearance -- it's pretty hard for me to look clownish or unattractive. They're gonna be ultra boy-friendy on me -- I'm prepared for that. And yeah...they're not gonna be my "winners"...and that's OK too.  Several have admitted (DougNg, Stewart, others) -- that they aren't totally thrilled with the fit of the 634SR as compared to other IH jeans but that doesn't stop them from giving their 634SR love and tenderness.

Let's see how this posting thing works. Just took some pics of the 634SR. About 40 wears, 1 soak (by Giles), 1 wash (by me), roughly 30 wears with no wash or soak as of now.

      So much for Evo.

Gladly I get that question only for my pictures. 😉

User error. I used the link from the preview shot in Flickr. Flickr seems to store all sizes separately with separate links. So to get the link to the big picture you actually have to open each picture first and then select the large size. Sucks!

Anyway, I think they are sufficient for one to get the idea. If there are one or two particular pics you want to see bigger. I will upload the bigger version again.

I took them on the back patio that is surrounded by grass at about 7pm. That explains the slight green cast.

Yes. That's what I said. Nothing spectacular yet. 40 wears over not quite four months means they have been THE main pants in my rotation. With Austin summer sneaking up on us big time I don't see many more wears happening. Perhaps 10-20. I have decided that I will try to give some serious wear over the summer to my modest but nice 501 STF Verde Rigid. I took out an old pair of 501 yesterday night and the whiskers are really quite nice on those. With the green cast of the new pair I think I can get a really nice result. I also still have the Wrangler and Lee LHT sitting there. Want to experiment a little with those. I want to do my own natural indigo overdye on them. I project I might get to that sometime in July or August.

Yeah, right. I wanna see you wear a pair of 634SR over the summer in Austin when it's around 100F every frickin' day. Anyways, I love the jeans. Could even imagine getting another pair just to have one in stock for when this pair is done with, which won't be soon. So that gives me the problem of guessing what kind of waist circumference I will have years from now. At age 30 I was wearing size 30 in jeans. Now it's 32-33. What is it going to be in 5-8 years?

Beatle, I'm 37 and the waist is 32-33. I hope it will still be there at 40. But America and age wasn't good to me. 🙂

Stewart, congrats. That's a real accomplishment. At age 21 I was wearing 28/29. Skinny guy. I need to get down to 31-32 for my good suits to fit me well again. I can get in and I can close them now. I can even breathe. 🙂 But I can't say they fit me well. I could let them out a little bit probably but I like the goal.

How many wears you got on your 634SR, btw?

If I move back to Europe I think I will be easily able to stay in shape.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I will actually spend a good part of the summer in Europe. Still to hot for my IH stuff, I think. And I like to travel light. I actually have a decent second wardrobe in Berlin. That makes it easier. But from there I take many small trips and on those I pack super light.

I keep a pocketknife in the right back pocket of my 634SRs. It's about a four and a half inch handle, and the pivot end of the handle is always rubbing against the top seam of the back pocket liner. A little while ago, the top seam separated from the back pocket

Funny thing is, I mentioned that to my mom on Sunday dinner, she finds some matching thread and a low gauge needle, and fixed it right up!

Kudos, DougNg´s mom ! The last time I gave mine a pair of Eternals which had a hole in the back pocket…she cut the frayed denim off...ever since I do it myself+

The grass ain't greener on the other side. I do aspire for a ridiculously heavy-as-fuck pair of unsanforized  jeans (no interest in the upcoming 35-oz though)

What exactly are these upcoming 35 oz. jeans of which you speak? New IH model?

They are a heavy flannel lined 634S.  So 21oz selvedge plus aprox 13/14oz for the flannel.
