Sorry folks.  We ended up in South Wales, so came back home on the M4 not the M40, so did not go past Bicester….

i love those.  Im with you on the soles though.  I think something a bit less agressive would suit the boot better.  maybe a Vib 430 or even a 700.  I would probably change the laces as well, as that contrast seems off to me for some reason.

Thing is I cant look at a chunky sole on a bloke without thinking hardcore bear - plus I have this belief "Less is More".

Just to learn more: What is the difference between Chelsea boots (would have thought these were Chelseas) and Jodhpurs?

I suspect the 2 terms are interchangeable.  I know of no difference.

lovely! Still think they are better looking than the comparatively clumsy Tricker's Stowe.

To me, chelsea boots have elastic on the side. Jodhpurs have no elastic, but do have a strap that holds the tongue tight. It looks like the two terms have become interchangeable, but, for what it's worth, most discussions you see on the net still maintain the distinction.

                                        Alico Tahoe.

Found these while on a "find a nice vintage-like hiking boot"-internet frenzy. Made in Italy, norwegian welt, beautiful full grain leather and a nice vibram outsole. There were loads of praising reviews on this boot online and I decided to take the chance re size and went TTS… And boy did it pay off. With some boots you just know if you hit the sweet spot and these are definitely it. Very stiff and will take some breaking in but I seriously love these. Plenty of space for a good insole and thick socks.

Very affordable IMHO (150 € shipped from the states) for what you get. These aren't as nice as Danners or Vibergs obviously but I think these could be a great choice if you're on a budget. The only downside is that these don't have a leather lining but I can live with that. These are going to get a proper thrashing.

                                        AIAN HA-TO!
