I agree with that assessment, although I have never owned any Dita. I believe G has both, so perhaps he could give his opinion?

Persol are brilliant and  Mme B and I have a number of pairs, but Dita are seriously next level….When I took mine in to get prescription lenses fitted, I thought I'd never get them back, the optician was enthralled....

What is it that makes them next level G? I'm genuinely interested for my next pair of frames.

One of the simple things is the shape of the arms, they are almost impossible (at least for me) so shake off or have slip down my nose.  The hinges are brilliant.  The overall quality of craftsmanship is more apparent on my Statesman than my Ramblers, but this is because the construction and materials are more complex.  I needed my Statesman tweaked recently and went into "The Eye Company" in Wardour Street, I could have walked out with a dozen pairs, there is something about the designs that I really really love.  (And they are made in Japan)

Play with mine when you are here….

Yes, those orange ones would make you look like serious mental case, but is that a bad thing? In your case?  😉

I have a bunch of friends getting into Warby Parker. They send you a box with the five frames you pick out. You try them on, pick 'em out, then let them know your prescription. They're only $95. I've been thinking about getting a pair or two as mine are starting to wear out. Anybody had any luck with them?

I think Urbs has or had a pair. A guy on StyleForum said the quality is pretty weak, but for $95 I guess we can't complain.

Warby Parker are stylish cheap made in china glasses. I've never owed a pair but have seen some before, not great. If you're on a budget and don't want to go to Walmart, then get Warby Parker.

                                Another cheap alt

Ah-ha. Too good to be true. IH has changed my appreciation for quality. I can't hardly bring myself to settle for cheap Chinese goods. No matter how inexpensive, it still feels like a rip off. I was shopping with my wife and I couldn't handle how poorly made some expensive designer gear was.
