60-70% off?  Damn, that's more like a Going Out of Business Sale…

I'm not surprised, Giles said the margins are small. When I went there they had IH-634S priced at over $400, when I said it was $360 on the IH website they were surprised and said the prices change sometimes? They sold them to me for $360 though. Canadian market is quite small, not super surprised that there aren't many retailers up here with IH.

Would like to get down to SelfEdge NY some day to see a more full collection and other goodies. Maybe I'll hold off until I go back to the UK to visit family.

              They have never been USD400…..

                Wow!!

I had a bad feeling about it to be honest but I wanted the jeans. Quite a few things in the store are priced much higher than the makers sell them for. I know its a boutique in a high end fashion district and prices reflect that but…

Example: Iron and Resin t-shirt sells for $35 from I&R, and they're selling them for close to $90.

I'm happy to pay for quality goods, but being ripped off is a big piss off.

Anything you buy (even those made in the U.S.) in Canada are priced higher….... 😠

                    Some things are, not all.

What I'm saying though is I'm going to buy it where the best deal is. Even after shipping from the US and paying tax (the same retail tax I would pay in store) its lots cheaper to buy from the USA direct.

Now I find out that they lied to me about the price of what they were selling, I'm really not thinking of going back there again. Its not paying the price thats my issue its that I'm not going to pay someone else MORE than what the manufacturer is asking for the same product. I think thats fair?

I paid $400 at Serpentine for my 666s - same as Self Edge. More worryingly, they didn't know the jeans are unsanforized.

That isn't very encouraging for sales staff product knowledge. Oh well. They did me a favour by providing hands on feel for IH gear. Just needed to see it to give me a push over the edge.

Wishing there was a local dealer with the jackets in stock.

I need to try on L, XL and XXL versions of the IH-526J and Riders. Need to confirm fit.

I'll be there tomorrow, but I don't have either of those jackets in those sizes or else I'd let you try them on. I have a 527J XXXL rider and XXL 526SV vest.

If you have a Type III measure it the way we do.  If you don't have a type III, then go into a store try any Type III on, find one that fits them measure it.  Then compare with our sizing.  Buy the 526 first it is easier to size, then once you have that we can easily establish your 527 size…

I don't have either of them sadly. The one shop in Toronto that has IH only had 634s, 666, 9634Z in stock.

I think SelfEdge NY is the second closest stocking dealer. Wish there were more.

No, I meant you go into any shop that sells any kind of Type III (not an Iron Heart one), and measure it, it may mean that you have to go into the changing room, but it's doable…..

Gotcha. Will do, I didn't know they would be cut so similarly.

There will be some variation, but you should get a pretty good idea…..

Managed to try on a Levi's type III today and while I didn't have a tape measure to get spec's I found the XL be a better fit. Still a bit snug though.

Maybe an XL in the 526 if it stretches some but looking at chest measurements for the Rider jacket, definitely XXL.
