        @Chris:

        Yeah, I hate the neck holes on Flat Head tees.  Otherwise, great quality, though.

        Funny, I'm the opposite.  I really like the fact that the FH collars are tough as nails and don't sag or lose their shape over time.

          Back home safe and sound, and eventually dry again. First two hours with the still really wet jeans was a challenge. Shrinkage is far less dramatic than expected. I can see what you mean, Nem, as they now are REAL tight just in the waist (beltline), but just fine on butt and thighs. But the bastards scratch now, particularly on my knee bends. Have to appeal to my masochistic side to really like it. Won't, alas, be able to wear them with a cuff I think, they did shrink noticeably in the length. I wonder what taller people than me (179 cm, or  5' 10,5") do ?

          Keep your jeans on–-and let nothing come in between you and the denim !

              Struggle, the only Flat Head that are properly long enough for me are the f380's - they come in 2" longer than the rest….

                That's interesting… I'm 5'11" and had a little bit hemmed on my 3001s. Guess the low rise lends some length to the inseam.

                501/IH - glad the STF worked out for you but be warned, you probably haven't got all the shrinkage out. My TFH continued to shrink with washing even after several hot soaks. At 10 months of wear, they're a little too snug now.  😞

                  Thanks for info and warning. I sure don't expect to be done with the shrinkage after that first soaking complete with the owner. Have some bruises on my right thigh and left knee bend as my battle wounds…this denim is outright hostile! But will be beaten into submission, as Nem would probably put it. However not today - I'm wearing some buttersoft old jeans after yesterday!

                    It's beautiful denim and worth any effort it might involve. Vertical fading is a dream.

                        After an initial 50 deg hand wash, my 3005's shrank 2" in the waist.  Mind you they stretched back out 1-1.5" within one day of wear put on damp.  Couldn't do the top button up this morning, and fully comfortable by 6pm.
                        At 6'1" I can't cuff or else they would be too short.  Hope no more shrink in the inseam or I'm rooted!

                          At how many washes?

                          I already see myself doing the washes just like the bathtub ritual…promises to be loads of fun.

                                      They did shed some blue blood!

                                          Sure can. Bit tight in the waistline, but wearing them will take care of that. Just have to be careful with the first wash (es). But that's far, far in the future. First wear after bathtub ritual has to wait till my "war wounds" will have healed.

                                            I love the feel of raw denim on my body, but my knee bends protest rather loudly against these particular bad boys. First full day of post-soak wear will have to wait.
