I'd be very surprised if you lost a whole inch in the thigh. I got the 007 raws and they shrunk a fair bit, but definitely not 1 inch in thigh. I wouldn't imagine the 005 would be too different.
If you're really worried, instead of a hot soak you could try a luke warm soak, and the shrinkage won't be so great.
BTW, these jeans are amazing, and will reward you quite quickly with some wear. Good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement rock, though I have realised that the 32 007s are pushing the boundaries of slimness on me already, so the 005s wont be any good anyway, even if they shrunk less than most stuff suggests…
-
down the line, the 005 denim will soften up & become more pliant. the waistband will stretch out even past raw measurement if needed. sizing down 1 is common_ even 2 for slim/skinnier built [ie, w/o thigh issues].
just make sure you're good at the thighs. thigh shrinkage is about 0.25" measured flat or 0.5" all-round_ 3/4" should be max.
***on O/W, shrinkage is almost max, so tendency/behavior of the denim is to stretch out.
i take the tightest pair i can squeeze into & button up. -

New model ‹XX-017› COBALT DENIM TAPERED SLIM
Pretty insane
Picked up a pair at BIG while in NYC last week and the pants are very very nice. Lovely color. One thing: PBJ sizes are weird. My IH are 33 or 34 waist, and I need to size up to 36 or even 38 for a loose fit with PBJ's.
-
He said he needed to size up to get a loose fit; I think that's where the problem lies. PBJ doesn't really make loose fitting jeans, just slim and slimmer. I've wanted to try a pair for years, but I can't fit my thighs in anything close to my correct size. And as Injun Jack always tells us, if a pair of jeans in your correct size doesn't fit right, then you're wearing the wrong style.:)

Some pics would be great, when you get the time GB.
I don't want to post pix on non IH stuff on the IH forum, sorry.

isnt that what this forum is for though? Other brands?
