Read a few of the Batman story lines. Haven't got the money/time/inclination to follow any more. Hope it isn't a new trend DC have started here, rebooting all their lines every few years…

I know they have to entice new readers in somehow, but what was wrong with the "continuity" of the last 52 event?? I suppose it could be argued that starting to read a comic at issue #900 or so could put people off, but why not just start reading at the newest story arc? That's what I used to do, then if you like the characters, read a few of the collected editions...

As opposed to "Holy Shit! We're up to issue #13, quick, invent some bullshit cataclysm we can use to print a few more #1's!!". And "I don't think that 15 variant covers is enough, let's release a gold foil edition that's had a silver foil overlay and a couple of holograms stuck on. And make the 'Retailer Incentive' cover invisible or something."

This has turned into a bit of a rant, sorry. And it surely can't be long now before the special logic kicks in and $3.99 becomes £3.99 :(. Which might run to 20 pages if your lucky.

And Marvel??? X-Men vs Avengers??? Yet another retelling of Amazing Fantasy #15 for the latest Spider-Man anniversary? Space Punisher??

I really, really wish I was imaging some of this rubbish...

In news that makes me slightly happy:

There's a reprint of the old Green Lantern/Green Arrow stories out now.

Sorry again to go on so long.

Yup, I hear you. I really felt they were on the cusp of something really cool with Batman RIP, Batman and Robin, and The Return Of Bruce Wayne…....then they go fuck it up again  😠

The Walking Dead series has me feeling like a little kid again. I'm counting down the days till the next issue drops. #100 hit me in the gut. I was warped for days and I don't know anyone else that's into it, so I couldn't debrief. Sometimes, I need a nerd therapist.

I'm reading the new 52 BATMAN (court of owls story line) and it's on issue 12 now, I've read the first 7 and am really enjoying them.
I recently read Batman Year One and Batman The Dark Knight returns, and about to start Batman The Long Halloween and Batman Dark Victory.

I've also read all 100 issues of The Walking Dead and thoroughly enjoyed them. I'd recommend buying all of the volumes at once off Amazon and reading them..such a great deal.

@JoesaintJohn that issue was so intense. I read it and instantly went and bought 2 more of the variant covers.

I've actually stopped reading The Walking Dead, I used to get the collected editions every time they cam out, but I've felt it's got  little weak over the last year or so. When it first started out it was untouchable.

I'm still undecided about the New 52….might wait and pick up the giant TBP at Midtown in October, I think it's about $100, which is scandalous for a Comic Book, but it's over 1000 pages, so I'll take a look and decide.

I thought the new Batman was okay. I did not, however, like the new The Dark Knight.

The Batman Detective Comics are okay too, in my opinion.

I really need to check out Walking Dead…

                                        So:
I started (post Beano etc) around 8 yrs old with comics from my Grandparents paper shop. Every time we went up to Scotland to visit there'd be a great pile of stuff for me to trawl through; 2000AD, Victor, Battle and Look & Learn with its amazing exploded diagrams of warships/engines/power stations and the like.

Summer of '83 I stayed ata mates for a week and read his elder brother's entire 2000AD chronicles collection- at that time about 14 books of collected stuff, The Dark Judges, Cursed Earth, Judge Child Quest etc. couldn't get enough of it especially the Brian Bolland stuff.

Couple of years later picked up Batman 900 - (awesome Bill Sienkiewicz cover) and went on from there I think this was just before  Dark Knight.

Then Freak Bros…...(hand-in-hand with all the Hawkwind 😎 )

I bought the Watchmen deluxe HC with my first proper wage packet....

So was mainly into DC stuff, but again due to Sienkiewicz/Miller got 'Elektra Assassin'.

                                        some faves:

                                        Geof Darrow
                                        Pete Bagge
                                        Chris Ware
                                        Bill Sienkiewicz
Alan Moore -  read 'From Hell' for one, if you haven't already
Frank Miller (before he went nuts)
                                        Shaky Kane
                                        Rafael Grampa
                                        Charles Burns
                                        Brian Bolland
                                        Dean Motter - (Mister 😵
