I like your attitude Alex and do share your opinion. Unfortunately, I kinda lost my interest of training indoors some years ago but thankfully I have my dog so I am outside a lot of time. Maybe I will start again with some easy real training again in near future 🙂

                Cheers,
                David

btw. here´s a great page to check out a lot of different training exercices/ food reciepts and other helpful stuff, if you´re sick of just doing the same things all the time…

most of the fodd stuff´s on german though!

In spite of still carrying a nagging injury from my first full marathon in May, I've decided to start training for a half in October. Crummy that I'm 7 weeks behind, but what can you do?

Mostly hoping it will help my jeans fit a bit better!

Have confidence, if you've done a full, you can do a half.:)  What's the injury, by the way?

Good luck with the training Zwer. You looking to race the half marathon or just get round in a respectable time?

I started running again last week and have been going out every other day and enjoying it. I think I was motivated after reading about all the Olympic training and started to miss a good workout. Racing seems a long way off though…

@Chris - i developed some IT band issues in my left leg during the marathon. Pain was mostly in my knee - that's cleared up, but I've got some hip pain now. Stretching it and rolling does seem to help.

Coming on 40 - things just don't work like they used to!

@sugar - Yeah - trying to finish in under 2 hours. I've done a couple 'official' races in the past and managed a 2.07 when I was training for the full.

I go to a university gym in london so i am surrounded by above, which is fine, but what is not fine is them throwing or dropping the weights to signal the amount of steel they are lifting.  Then again it gives me a chance to say hi.

This is going to sound a little weird  but it occurred to me the other day that one of the drivers for getting in shape was the IH gear. I felt like that there was a disconnect/disparity between very durable clothes and a poorly looked after physicality.

Not weird at all. My 801s and 704s were getting a little snug around the waist so I knew it was time to go back to calorie-counting.

Conversely, my 666s now don't fit my thighs due to weightlifting 😕
