I mean, totally not trying to push you into anything but that is a long time to want a item of clothing. I am sure in that period of time you have spent money on clothes you don't like as much. Anyhow, if you do decide to get one, we would all love to see images. Cheers and good luck deciding…

It's cool man, and yeah, I've spent a good bit over that time on things I don't like nearly as much. Much of it is office wear which kinda sucks, but is necessary. I hate to ask sizing questions but I'm still kinda unsure on how to size it after having read the entire thread several times. I typically wear an XL in most non-IH brands and either a XXL or XXXL in IH shirts. A 48" chest fits me well with room to spare. I've also got your old IHJ-05 which fits but is a little snug across the upper back. I'll stop rambling about now. Don't want to clutter the thread too much.

Hi Gratefulmelon nice thinking about this vest…you will not regret...I wear mine in S my usual size for IH shirts and tees also non-IH-brands...I think the cut is a bit fuller in the chest area and I could have sized even down to an XS for only wearing it with a tee under it. But I am quite happy now after it settled a little bit and wearing it with a nice heavy chambray or flannel under it. And it will even settle more...its really an armor vest

Does this come with the insanely thick leather patch like the IH-9526J?
Unfortunately no it does not. Prob a good thing though since it is mostly used for layering.

Hey Salami, go with a Small. The extra small is gonna be tiny. That's saying something coming from me. I wear an XS in Iron Heart shirts but I think the type III cut is gonna be too short on you in that size. I'm 5'10" 135 if that helps you at all. My small fits a little airy with just a t-shirt (can't pull off that look anyway) but is perfect with a flannel or a hoody. I still think it could be an inch longer though. There's a fit pic on page 14 of this thread.

Just pulled the trigger on one of these - perfect for a bank-holiday weekend. I had to read the entire thread twice to choose a size though; I went for M in the end and am keeping my fingers crossed 'till it arrives! I'm 6' and 40" chest but looking to just wear it over a t-shirt or button down and the measurements on the site for the M looked pretty close to my size L IH526J, which is a little on the large side. I shouldn't have done it but I guess that's just what credit cards are for … right?
