what abt the thighs, knee and hem? Slimmer? And say if I'm a 33" in the 666S, do I go 32" in the 710s or stick to a 33"?

19 oz yeah. Slubby and hairy: most certainly. All in all brilliant jeans, but sold them cause the midrise didn't agree with me…

Measure the 666S and go true to size on the 710xx'es.

look at the measurements on DC4 or BiG and compare with your 666S

yeah i just realise 5 minutes ago that DC4 carries them too.  😶

but im wondering are those measurements pre or post soak ones? it seems to differ from BiG.  😞

as always: different ways of measuring! and the measurements are of course pre-soak

Damn, Seul, you are a man with very "high" standards (lousy pun intended)! Both these and the PBJ looked fucking perfect on you, yet you let 'em go due to the rise.

personaly I don't find the rise of my 710 too low but I can understand Eli completely: what's the use of a nice pair of jeans if they just don't fit the way you want them too? the denim and details can be as nice as it gets but if you are not happy wearing them, no need to keep them (unless you are a collector).

Yep, I wore my Wind element pair for 4+ months, even though the fit kinda sucked.  I finally gave up and relegated them to being my home improvement beaters.  In retrospect, I should have just sold them and cut my losses.

^really depends on your cut preference.  710s are popular. 'got both the prod'n 19oz & the ltd ed Blue Shadow 17oz Zero denim.
but,  if you prefer a more versatile+standard 634 equivalent,  you should look into the 5000 cut/silhouette [which comes in several denim options].

                                  here are some fit/cut samples:

                                  0110xj: 170z Jin denim

710 Blue Shadow: 17oz Zero denim

                                  001jp Yamato: 15oz

                                  5000AI-10SP: ltd ed 170z nat. ai-dyed warp + Bamboo ink-dyed weft

I see you've got the non-USA editions of all these jeans, i.e. with the red tab.

Do the American versions have the pocket arcs or are they plain?

Since Samurai redesigned the arcs, I think they're allowed to sell versions with pocket arcs in the American market.  I believe only the red tab is still prohibited by the Levi's lawsuit.  I'm not positive about that, though.
