Not at all, I wear Uniqlo Raws for dirty manual labour (gardening etc…). I love my Iron Hearts, and my Samurais, and they're expensive, evo is one thing, purposely ruining them is quite another.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Yeah, let me add to the consensus.  If I were in your situation, I'd buy cheaper jeans with no hesitation (not N&F, though- they don't fit me at all).  Like Mega said, evo is one thing, intentionally destroying expensive jeans is something else entirely.

How disgusted would you guys be if I bought some N&F to work in?

(I need jeans to beat the shit out of, like, yesterday and this is the only brand made readily available around here.)

Have you checked out 3 Sixteen? They are pretty cheap, but use really cool denim..

If you find some on sale, why not? Have you seen their other brand Paul Rose? They're actually kinda nice.

But I agree with Mega, Uniqlo are good for cheap jeans. They even have selvage ones. I can proxy some to you no problem.

Also, for the price you'd spend on a pair of new N&F it might be the same price you'd spent on a nicely worn in pair of IH, Samurai, Flathead, or Strike Golds.

At the end of the day, who is really gonna notice besides you. Or maybe you work with a ton of IH obsessed fuckers like us. 🙂

I appreciate all the input, guys.
You're right, if I am going to spend $230 + taxes on a pair of Paul Rose, I might as well buy Sal's Strike Gold's–though 17oz is pushing the boundaries of comfort for our humid summers.

I might have to splurge and pick up some Flat Heads, as I believe their construction is top tier in terms of light weight, and I'd rather not have to worry about crotch blowouts and ripped bar tacks on pocket bags. The problem is, I'd like to budget myself closer to $200 for a pair rather than $400.

I'd gladly settle for a pair of 3Sixteen SL 100s, but 1. they don't appear to be much of a straight leg fit, and 2. I've had a lot of difficulty narrowing down sizing using their charts.

Go for some Uniqlo Raws, honestly you will be surprised by the quality for such a small price.

I hope he did not drop by Oslo without letting me know.

It's definitely wrong, and just another reason why I hate Super Dry Japan clothing. Designed in London, made in Turkey, bugger all to do with Japan.

Superdry ain't no homage though, it's gaudily designed tat, for people who drink warm cans of Fosters, wear track suit bottoms 2 sizes too big, and at least 2 Staffordshire bull terriers…...oh, and no job or thoughts of wanting a job.

It's weird to me that the group you described above is your perceived Superdry demographic. In London, they have a large flagship store in Covent Garden and the people who took up the brand first (maybe a couple of years ago) were definitely young professional types with disposable income (who might have viewed A&F as being too preppy) rather than scallys of any kind.

Maybe the brand is much more diluted now. The business woes of the company would indicate that they've attempted a really aggressive expansion and not been able to achieve it.
