The pics make me remember why I love SD's. They look equally amazing pampered or worn hard, they really are the ultimate utility boots.

I like the look of a beat up pair of boots.  It means they were used for their intended purpose.  Much like denim.  I probably will oil them before winter though.  I'm really liking these.

Haha. Well I've only tried on the Semi-Dress and the 8.5D fit me well with thick socks. I got SmokeJumpers in 8.5 and Outdoorsman(lace to toe, more flexibility in the toe box) in 8. I don't think I'm THAT far off. You just never really know until they're on your feet. Also, when youre paying 25-40% of the retail price I think you have room to take risks.

My SD's arrived back from James Taylor and Sons today from their resole.

To be honest, I don't know if I'm happy or not. The quality of the workmanship seems to be very good, but it is definitely not the sole I asked for. I might just live with it though.  :-\

Mega, I think they look good. I prefer a block heel but those are fine. Do you not like how aggressive they look or something?

They are not what you asked for are they mate? In fear of vexing you I think the heel/commando combo looks weird.

Send em back and demand satisfaction (demand nicely though 'cos, you know, we're English)
