I'll buy them from zappos – like today ! I'll post pics up on the forum next week.  Thanks for convincing me Beatle ! I hate ebay...90% of the stuff I've bought on ebay was fake or defective in some way. I've learned my lesson after losing hundreds of dollars, if not a couple of thousand. I've long ago learned -- there ain't such a thing as a free lunch. If you want something, you gotta pay the market price for it. In the the long run, if you lose ebay (for clothes and shoes), you'll have more money and authentic, genuine, high quality stuff. There are some things which ebay is good for...rare, hard to find items which aren't sold anymore in the public marketplace.

My prblem is that I am a 10 E, so I may be restricted to the ones that Alden sell themselves:

As I said above I am a US 10E, so many "specials" won't fit me, as they usually only get made in D width.  But I'm tempted to get a chainsaw to me feet so I can get into some all of these

I'm sure by now you've seen these (Dry Bones Boots). They are the most beautiful things I've ever laid eyes on ! And a Men's 6.5 is more like a Women's 8, so still too big on me. But googling around, Giles, I read something about how these can be custom made for you.

You buy stuff from SuFu and SF… Fuck eBay, that's a given. But fuck paying retail price as well.

I like them Shub, especially the grey 2-tone. Hectic pricey though when compared to bang for your buck from the likes of RedWing/Alden.

For me nice shoes are pretty much a spectator sport, apparently anyone in the UK with a size larger than a 11 does not need stylish footwear….

I need no additional accoutrements to be considered a clown thanks

Agree with Giles on this one. Definitely not a stylish shoe and definitely overpriced. Don't do it. Try to see if you can get the Indies in your size. Even a traditional pair of Clark's desert boots will be much better. Did you check the Baxter boots, Stewart posted in the Boot thread? Those are wonderful.

hectic, I think Church's and the other British shoemakers do make MTM shoes for a rather low extra fee. Like ten percent more than the regular model and often you can choose a little extra here and there like a different color or no toe cap and such.

Are these OK ? (Clarks Wallabees). They're my type of shoe. I hear that they're insanely comfortable and they do have  Women's. Let me know if you think they're hideous (or not).

Do the Wallabee, Desert, or Alden Indy!!! I think you would look best in some Wallabee's!

My priority would be Indy, Desert, Wallabee. If you have the funds, I think an upscale desert boot be it Alden or whoever would really be nice. But in your size that might be difficult. Not sure if it's worth the bother when you can get a Clark desert or wallabee off the rack for little money.

Wallabee wins ! Zappos does have a Clark Desert model for women in my size (6.5), but they're not boots :

                                      http://www.zappos.com/clarks-desert-trek-womens-sand-suede

And, Zappos does carry a nice Clark Desert Boot for women, but not in my size  (6.5) ! They're sold out.

                                      http://www.zappos.com/clarks-desert-boot-beeswax-leather-2

As for the Men's Desert boots – forget it. The smallest size available in those is a size 6 Mens, which is too big for me.

The Wallabee boots do come in my size (6.5), Women's, so I'm going for them !
Plus, I prefer the Wallabees because they're chunkier. Being a clogs person, I prefer chunky on my feet. I think LandoCal is right...Wallabees would suit me best.

That said, Till...I'd love a pair of the Clark Deserts too. I'll keep an eye out for my size coming back in stock. Zappos is pretty good about that.

Thanks all for your helpful tips and suggestions !
