Are these OK ? (Clarks Wallabees). They're my type of shoe. I hear that they're insanely comfortable and they do have Women's. Let me know if you think they're hideous (or not).

no - they are perfect …a shoe that's been around for such a long time - 60 years - and comes from the UK - where people still walk a lot - can't be bad. I own a pair in Beeswax and suede leather - both have lasted me for ever and are comfty as all. The nice thing about Clarks is that they are so simple - and classy at the same time. In other words - you can wear them to hang out or to meet ppl at a nice restaurant - they go both ways.
Check ebay - they always have good deals - -
I am a runner - used to wear nothing but sneakers for a long time…I honestly believe you should give the Alden Indy a try..no pain since the leather is very smooth - and I swear - they are made for walking. I can have them on the entire day and still won't be tempted to take them off when I walk in the door. They make your IH's look so much more ..mh ..special agent ...
pricey - but you will have these for a lifetime..these are mine worn with IHBK07 …
Oh fuck - now I need some Indies too…..
-
I'll buy them from zappos – like today ! I'll post pics up on the forum next week. Thanks for convincing me Beatle ! I hate ebay...90% of the stuff I've bought on ebay was fake or defective in some way. I've learned my lesson after losing hundreds of dollars, if not a couple of thousand. I've long ago learned -- there ain't such a thing as a free lunch. If you want something, you gotta pay the market price for it. In the the long run, if you lose ebay (for clothes and shoes), you'll have more money and authentic, genuine, high quality stuff. There are some things which ebay is good for...rare, hard to find items which aren't sold anymore in the public marketplace.
-
btw - the wallabees are just as great**go for it !
and Giles - you absolutely do..LOL
My prblem is that I am a 10 E, so I may be restricted to the ones that Alden sell themselves:
-
100% agree‚ those Indy's are sweet….yet more items on the "must have" list
As I said above I am a US 10E, so many "specials" won't fit me, as they usually only get made in D width. But I'm tempted to get a chainsaw to me feet so I can get into
someall of these -
I'm sure by now you've seen these (Dry Bones Boots). They are the most beautiful things I've ever laid eyes on ! And a Men's 6.5 is more like a Women's 8, so still too big on me. But googling around, Giles, I read something about how these can be custom made for you.

Sorry Shub, not loving them….

Agree with Giles on this one. Definitely not a stylish shoe and definitely overpriced. Don't do it. Try to see if you can get the Indies in your size. Even a traditional pair of Clark's desert boots will be much better. Did you check the Baxter boots, Stewart posted in the Boot thread? Those are wonderful.
hectic, I think Church's and the other British shoemakers do make MTM shoes for a rather low extra fee. Like ten percent more than the regular model and often you can choose a little extra here and there like a different color or no toe cap and such.

Do the Wallabee, Desert, or Alden Indy!!! I think you would look best in some Wallabee's!
