    Make (possible) Selvedge Duck Limited
    -similar to the 21oz/23oz denim
-I know that duck does not run as often as denim, so it may help if a couple miles were made all at once.
-Then do a few cuts until it runs out.
-This will also eliminate questions about additional runs of the already elusive, threatened selvedge duck

I will talk to Haraki about a selvedge duck when I am in Japan in May.

That could actually be a realistic number; I remember Giles ordering a literal mile of denim for a run of one of the new models of jeans, maybe the 1955?  A couple of miles is only 3,500 yards or so.

I'd love it if there were a few thousand yards of duck sitting around in storage, waiting to be used whenever a good idea comes up.

I ran 1.1 miles of 18oz raw.  An average pair of jeans requires 2.7 yards of shuttle loomed cloth, so 2 miles would equal 1300 pairs jeans.  I'm not in that league.

But I only need to do circa 1,100 yards as a minumum

Ah, so I was being a tad optimistic.  Still, a shedload of duck, just sitting around, waiting for inspiration to strike sounds nice.

Of course, having your money tied up in unused supplies is an issue.  I guess we have to concede the fact that you need positive cash flow to put food on the table.

                1,100 is do-able, 3,500 and I'd be looking for a new wife….

Same here Simon, in a 1941 cut with coin pocket and we have a winner.  Lord knows you'd think the big H would want to dabble in some heavy weight chino fabric as he's yet to do it and its a plain fact that every man on this planet needs a pair in his locker.  It'll happen.

-it would be nice to get them in single leg.
-I'd jump on a pair of shrink to fit overalls, especially with the raw fading properties.

-think Shawshank Redemption. I was watching this last night and got tons of inspiration. The whole movie is denim, hickory, herringbone and chambray.
